It's okay bro, that the past when the colonial time, we know how struggle in the past, but now Indonesia be friend to all country. If i'm not wrong, in Netherlands there are many people that have Indonesia blood or half Indonesia and they still learn the Indonesia culture too. I'm Indonesian and let me explain little bit about that video, actually that was medley folks song or traditional song from many region in Indonesia, like Java, Bali, Papua and many more. Every part of song have different language (local language), different costume, and different culture that show about Indonesia diversity. Then when you hear music rock the backsound was the speech from our first president when declare independence in 1945. After that Indonesia patriotic song. Not sure if someone realizes the main story line of this music video. It is actually highlighting the situation of Indonesia from time to time. 1. The narration tells the existence of Indonesia (previously known as Nusantara) with all of its diverse landmarks and natural landscapes. Note: The word Nusantara means Islands between Islands or simply translated into the archipelago. Each island has its own kingdom, but all are under the rule of a few big kingdoms like; Srivijaya, Majapahit, Kediri, Sunda etc. 2. Then the music started with an uplifting song Paris Barantai, and then continued by showcasing the different look, different languages and outfits of its people to showcase how diverse the country was, yet they all shared the same happiness. 3. The dark scene - the western invasion; Portugeese, French, British, the Dutch and Japan came to colonize the country for 350 years, which bring so much pain in a very single Indonesian people. 4. The mother singing lullaby tells us how hard that situation was and even every newly born children were destined to fight for independence. You can't be non - patriotic when you've brainwashed to do so even since the first day you see the world. 5. Listen to the solo guitar played by Alffy. That's was the sound of revolution. We have to fight back. 6. Independence day declared by our first President. 7. All of the youths unite with a strong oath to protect the nation. The song Bagimu Negeri is one of Indonesia's national songs, which actually more than just a song. It's the promise, the oath of the youths to protect and defend the nation. 8. The Garuda and Antaboga awaken to guard the nation from above and under. Garuda is the main symbol of the country. Antaboga is a mythological creature from our previous Majapahit Kingdom which believed to be the guardian of the underearth dimension.

This is an explanation from lombokfriendly Hi , thanks for doing this awesome reaction. Really enjoyed it. Sending you big hugs from Indonesia. Most people were asking: What are those headpieces she wore? Those headpieces (crowns) she wore called Tiara for females or Mahkota for males. In the past you must wear those kind of headpieces to identify yourself as a royal family member and normally made of gold and silver with diamond installed in the middle of it. Every diamond placed in a Tiara or Mahkota can't be just a normal diamond. It has to be something with a magical power. Meanwhile, headpieces for the usual people are made of clothes. Headpiece is one the most important outfits for almost every ethnic group in Indonesia. Even more important than shirts. In my original tribe and many others, we don't wear shirt for males, We usually wear 3 pieces of sarong (a loose cloth) to cover our waist up to the knee (No shirts on) and of course a headpiece. In my own tradition (Sasak in Lombok) headpiece isn't just an accessory. It is actually more as a symbol that you appreciate your head and to prove that you are responsible to protect it even from the heat. Headpiece is the very first thing you wear when you're born. Your parent will have it made for you a month before you even born. Nowadays, everyone can wear any kind of royal headpieces during their wedding ceremony and many other special occasions. Traditional costumes worn in the video: 1. From the ethnic group (Tribe) of Dayak in Kalimantan called Ta'a (for females) Sapei Sapaq (for males). Their headpieces are made of Hornbill feathers. This is just one of the many traditional costumes belong to the Dayak tribe. 2. I think is from the Kohongian tribe in Sulawesi Utara. This us just one of the many of them in Sulawesi Utara. 3. Based on the headpiece she wore, I think it is from the Asmat tribe called Sali made of bark and decorated with cassowary and bird of paradise feathers. Again, there are so many other traditional costumes in Papua. 4. Kebaya Labuh from the province of Riau. 5. Limpapeh Rumah Nan Gadang from the province of West Sumatera. 6. Payas Agung, Bali. 7. Kebaya Brokat from West Java. 8. Bula Molik (Crescent) made of silver and Gold. What are they singing? (Please refer to the traditional outfits as well because the songs and outfits represent the region where they originated) This video showcases 9 traditional folk songs from 9 ethnic groups out of 879 ethnic group existed in Indonesia. The main song is Bagimu Negeri - One of our national songs. As an Indonesian, there is no way you not gonna cry when singing or listening to that song. It is our oaths to the mother land. Our promises to the nation. And as the answer to the prayers of our parent which Alffy described perfectly through that young mother singing lullaby to her newly born son. A lullaby can't only be just a nice song to bring you to sleep, it consists a prayer, wishes and hopes of our parent to see us grow as someone useful to the nation. Who did the speech and what is it about? It was the original proclamation speech done by our first president Soekarno. Are those places real? The buildings and nature scenery were all real but yes, CGI effects applied to make the video looks more cinematic. Those floating buildings are; Rumah Gadang (Sumatera), Rumah Toraja (Toraja), Borobudur Buddhist temple (Jogjakarta), and Pura Ulun Danu (Bali).
