Superweird for me as a Dutch person. Apeldoorn is a city in the east. Coevorden, from the second Dierks appearance also a city in the east, but more to the North. A lot of Dutchies emigrated to Canada, US and Oz in the fifties, because of the housing shortage after the war and baby boom, especially farmers

i get that bud. one of my handful of very best friends was born and lives near Rotterdam. i actually clipped this just to mess with him and sent it to him in a Discord DM. i thought about leaving it private here on youtube, but it's silly enough to just laugh at as long as you don't take it seriously. the really funny part is that i'm american and my mother had 10 brothers and sisters specifically to help them work a farm together here in america. so that part definitely isn't a Dutch thing. but the names not fitting on the sweaters.....that's all you guys. :-P

The Dutch and Belgians moved to the central Ontario area to do farming in the 50's and 60's all the way to the 70's. You had whole communities where Dutch/Flemish was as common as English. Tillsonburg (dutch) and Delhi (flemish) are two of the more well known communities. Even Detroit had a half Dutch/half English newspaper for years. Not sure if it's still going. Much of the generation that moved in the 50's and 60's have passed on in the last twenty years, so that culture/community with direct connection to the Netherland and Belgium is going away quickly.

Aye. Names of Dutchmen in my area (south-eastern Iowa) have names based off locations in the Netherlands, or based off their family's occupational legacy. Vanderploeg, Groenenboom, Van Wijk, Nunnikhoven, to name a few. Even one in the area named "Zondervan" which is, linguistically quite hilarious.

Reminds me of a Dutchman that used to play for the football/soccer team I support, his name was Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink. They used to call him the scourge of dad's bank accounts the world over (in football, you pay extra for each personalised letter on a replica top) 😂😂😂😂

new show called Shoresy on Hulu (or Crave). It's actually an off-shoot from another 9 season show called Letterkenny, also on Hulu (or Crave). You don't have to watch Letterkenny first, but the lead role and creator is Jared Keeso for both shows and the heartwarming and wholesome yet abrasive and lightning-fast wit is consistent between both shows.

Not a parody. In a nutshell: Shorsey is a minor character from a show called Letterkenny. In Letterkenny, the actor (Keeso) played the main character named Wayne as well as Shorsey. You never saw Shorsey's face though and Keeso used a much higher pitch to make the two stand apart. The Letterkenny Shorsey voice was actually more squeaky.
