How good is my Filipino cooking today when I am visiting my parents after our family trip in the Philippines? I haven't been cooking Filipino food for a while but today I will bring beef caldereta and lumpiang shanghai to my Dutch parents and I am a little nervous for their Filipino food reaction!!

KUYA you forget the Sweet Chili sauce for the Lumpia Shanghai.. ( though U roll it Big, might mistakenly identify the Roll size of LUMPIANG TOGE ( Mongo Sprout + vegetable + Pork Giniling ).. Another kind of PINOY LUMPIANG SARIWA (Fresh Vegetable Roll) Topping of Sweet Brown Sauce + Crushed Garlic + crushed peanut.. Always Positive Remarks from your Parents. Good Job KUYA! 💕🇵🇭

I just cooked chicken caldereta the other day, but beef is my best choice for caldereta. Unfortunately, I don't like the smell of goat meat & lamb, so i don't cook them, not one dish ( aside from being harder to find in Philippine wet markets and grocery stores😁) For caldereta, i also use pork at times 'coz its cheaper, has fats which i like when very tender and doesn't require pressure cooking keeping the flavor in😊

I expect kambing and beef for kaldereta and mechado. If it's pork or chicken, it will be afritada. They're the three most popular tomato-based dishes that's somewhat confusing, except for the afritada which is very well known to use pork or chicken.

Lumpia is a chinese food. Chinese lumpia is big, bigger than your head😂😂😂. Shanghai lumpia is meaty.
