This is a fun video for a multi-panel dutch pour. It's a simple method for blowing out your paint in a consistent way across small square canvases so they create a beautiful cohesive piece of artwork. Making artwork on multiple canvas can be a fun change of pace and it's a great way to utilize small canvases to create visual interest. Usually I use Floetrol for my dutch pours, but since it isn't always available in my area I often experiment with other mixtures. For this pour I used Elmer's Glue-all which can actually create some interesting effects in the dutch pour technique. If you enjoy this tutorial please like, share, and subscribe! Your support means the world and helps me to be able to keep bringing you these tutorials. Paint brands and mixing ratios below...
Paint mixing ratios:
1 part paint; 1 part pvc glue medium (60% Elmers Glue-all: 40% water): half--one part water to dutch pour consistency (paint flows back into itself leaving no mound)
Paint brands and colours:
Deserres NT Acrylic Titanium White
Deco Art Violet
Deco Art Gold
Deserres NY Acrylic Turquoise

Hello from SC. Watched your videos this early morning. They are very good and I'm glad to see a newish artist making videos. Thank you for sharing your technique. Would like to reference them in the future to some who are looking for new practices. If you would consider numbering them, I would appreciate it. It would be easier to referring a number. Thank you for sharing your experience and your consideration.

Of course! It's mixed exactly the same as all the other paints. One part titanium white to one part glue medium (60:40 glue-all to water) to one part water. Mix and check consistency. Add more water if needed. Hope this helps!

I would use cool, if you have a cool setting that works on low. My hair dryer doesn't have cool setting on low speed so I use warm.

Hi! I found your page from the FB group! I’m a newbie to pour painting and WOW I love this!!! I do have some questions! On a dutch pour which I haven’t done yet, you said you normally put white paint around the colors in the middle. Is that only for a dutch pour ? And I see theres something over the end of your hair dryer … what is it? Should I do this to my hair dryer too?
@studioteal2552
@studioteal2552 3 жыл бұрын
Awe, Thank you so much! So, yes, putting the puddle of your base colour (doesn't have to be white that's just what I chose for a base colour in this painting) is something you would mostly just do for dutch pours. It gives your puddle colours something they can flow over while you blow them out. If you have too little paint on the canvas the colours can get stuck and you won't get a nice blow out. The attachment on the end of the hair dryer is just the concentration nozzle that comes with most dryers, and yes, I would recommend that you use it. It helps focus the air so you get that nice fan shape to you blow outs.

What ratio do you use to get this paint consistency with Elmers. I'm brand new to this, and would like to learn how to start.
@studioteal2552
@studioteal2552 3 жыл бұрын
So, this depends partly on what paint body you are using. Paints come in soft, medium, and heavy body. The thicker the paint you start with the more water you will need to add. For a medium or heavy body paint I start with a ratio of 1 part paint: 1 part glue medium (60%glue mixed with 40% water): 1 part water. Mix this and check your consistency. The paint should drizzle back into itself without leaving a mound. If it's still too thick add water slowly bit by bit until it does. For a soft body paint , do the same except start with half a part of water in your ratio. Hope this helps! Sorry my reply was a bit slow. My son managed to brake his leg over the weekend. Sigh.

You should show each canvas at a time, while you are working on it. Looking at the first canvas you did the whole time does not show me what you are doing on the other 3 canvases. I was quite disappointed by the way you did this.
