Hi, in this video I’m giving some tips on how to have fun and create with leftover paints. Experimenting with colors and practice is how I learned the most in my Fluidart. I also wanted to show a realistic video and how you can use resin to create a flawless finished look and fix an uneven finish after varnishing. Colors used are:
Amsterdam Carmine red Deep expert series
Amsterdam indigo expert series
Amsterdam magenta
Pebeo iridescent gold
Base is a mix of many colors and titanium white.
I used winsor & Newton high gloss varnish and faux rizzle resin.

About me, I am a self taught fluid artist in Southern California. I am a breast cancer survivor and started watching fluidart/acrylic pouring videos during my year of treatment.
Pouring art was a form of therapy for me during my recovery. It quickly became a newfound passion and I try many different acrylic pouring techniques! Yes, thank you 🙏💙I struggled for a long time with them. I started a couple years ago, gave up for a while and came back to them. I’m considering publishing this video where I use different paints and floetrol and how it doesn’t work for me and why-but it’s hard because I don’t like the video or the painting 😂

Love the colors and you taught me how doing the resin over a painting that had already been painted over would hide the ripples. I just finished two like that and I have the ripples. I thought I was going to have to toss them. You just saved me a bunch money. Thank you so much. 😊

That’s awesome! I love it! Just make sure you have a high quality resin and follow the instructions exactly. You have to be precise with it and you can also ruin your art with it. I used faux rizzle, I don’t promote their products officially and it takes forever for me to get them (it seems) but every time I try something different I have issues. I tried master cast which is supposed to be very high quality and had a lot of problems. I’ve heard that krystal resin is very good but never used it. Also if you have silicone in your pour it won’t work with resin unless you do a cleaning process (I dont know how) -why I never use silicone 👋☺️

It’s gorgeous! Did you have to sand it after you varnished and prior to applying the resin?

Thank you, no I never do that. Only in between resin coats a little.

Nicely done. I just started using resin for my finish coats. I've always just used Liquitex varnish but now I see the end results with resin and I don't think I can ever go back to varnish......unless the client wants it done. lol

Thanks for commenting! Yes the resin can really make pieces pop! Just be careful with the brand, in the beginning I used some that yellowed a lot over a year. It’s pretty safe when it’s not on a white background, but I also had some lose the general quality over a year. It can literally make or break your piece 😂

Good to know ants working for you. I used faux rizzle and haven’t had a bad outcome with it yet but I can’t stand the smell. Just tried master cast and it was great on a small piece but going to have to sand and redo on the larger piece I just did. I think it’s harder to mix and spread larger quantities obviously 🙄

@@michaelasartistry it’s pricey but try Krystal. They are out of Canada. They are doing free shipping right now. I’ve done 6 pieces and all 6 came out with no errors. Just amazing.
