The agreement with regards to Ayungin shoal is a "stalemate" strategy by PRC government having an upper hand because the "status quo" situation buys time for PRC military to build up its forces and extensively plan in order to gain more territory not only with the Ayungin shoal but in the rest of the West Philippine sea. President Duterte was basically allowing the PRC Navy to have unrestricted access in the West Philippine sea and allowing PRC Navy to amass its military forces!

If only Filipinos knew the dynamics of geopolitics, I just hope we won't end up like UKRAINE if we cross that point of no return. The US-PH alliance remains, but the policies by those in power at the White House are always changing. FPRRDs approach of an independent foreign policy is what's best for the nation. What's more worrying also is the coming US Elections. What would happen if PH & CHINA gets to a hostile conflict like RUSSIA & UKRAINE then TRUMP gets elected? What kind of foreign policy will it be? Will it do us any good? Again its better not risk even the littlest idea of going into conflict with China.
