Dwarfcraft Review - great short kite foil board, big step up from Nobile Infinity Foil

I'd been thinking about a lighter foil board for a long time, and I finally got around to it when the kind team at NY Kite center worked out a good deal for me on a Slingshot Dwarfcraft 110cm. This video covers my thoughts on the board ( I love it!), compares it to my Nobile Infinity Split Foil board, and shows the first session I had out on the board. I thought it was going to be a lot more challenging to ride on such a short board, but I basically got up right away.

I put my line mount under the split of the lines so the rings is not in the camera view, Its looks better but just keep in mind your chicken loop will not deflag the kite but its worth the shot loops really good

The stupid rings are always ruining my line mount shots! Are you riding a bar with a high “y”? I’ve never thought of mounting below the rings… thanks for suggesting it!

Evan, Does the Nobile foil fit the Dwarfcraft V2...? I notice you have a slingshot foil on the Nobile board...?

If you want to talk about moving to a ferrari, you're gonna need to get off that giant foil wing. :)

Haha. It's an 1100cm2, which isn't that huge for a 220lb guy... but I'm definitely eyeing those phantasm carbon foils in smaller sizes. What size do you ride?

@@erbartlett my Levitaz R5 is 515 sq cm (I weigh 190). My wingfoil is an Armstrong HA1125, pretty close to the same total area as your kite foil.

@@TylerKaraszewski how does going so small affect your low end? I imagine its super fun at the high end?

@@erbartlett Watch any of the videos of racers I guess. Bottom end of the wind range on small race foils is 6-7 knots of wind. On light days, I am often the first one out on the water (except at actual races where the top guys are all better than me 🙂), but this is paired with big kites. I was able to kite on my 515sq cm foil yesterday when nobody else was on the water. A friend of mine on a 1050sq cm freeride foil couldn't get off the beach. He was on an 8m Flysurfer Soul, and I was on a 19m Ozone R1, though.

@@TylerKaraszewski oh wow, thats a huge kite. Im increasingly interested in foil kites, but I was looking at the peaks and the hybrids. Should I be looking at those other kinds if I'm not racing?
