Eisenhower's inaugural address was littered with his hopes for global piece and international cooperation, at a time when mankind's technological capacity was accelerating at a pace that was frightening to many.

For those of you who did not know the fiscal and economic policies enacted under Eisenhower's Republican Administration, here is what it was like: Despite being a fiscal conservative and a moderate republican, during President Dwight Eisenhower's tenure 1953-1961, the top marginal tax rate in United States was 91%-among the highest in American history. When Republicans gained control of both houses of representatives and senate after the 1952 election, conservative factions within both R and D pressed the Eisenhower to support further tax cuts. Eisenhower however, prioritised federal budget balance, refusing to cut taxes. He stressed "until we have in sight a program of expenditure that shows that the factors of income and outgo will be balanced." President Eisenhower's Republican government kept the US national debt low and inflation near zero; three of his eight budgets had a surplus. He also continued President Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal legacy in a manner that embodied his thoughts on efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Major expansion of Social Security by a self-financed program continued under Eisenhower's presidency. His Republican government also supported New Deal programs such as the minimum wage and public housing-he greatly expanded federal aid to education whilst also built the Interstate Highway system primarily as defense programs. In a private letter he also wrote: "Should any party attempt to abolish social security and eliminate labour laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group of course, that believes you can do these things. Their number is negligible and they are stupid." If you look at the Republican and Democratic Parties today, well, I sincerely hope it kinda encourage at least some Americans (Particularly those who shout "Make America Great Again") to look back in history.

OOOPS! I hope that someone will eventually correct the glitch. In the opening remarks. Eisenhower specifically says that this is the second time he has address the nation and the world. That means that this is his inaugural address from 1957.

At that time, Rhee Syng-man threatened to achieve the unification of North Korea without the help of the UN military if the cease-fire continues.

This is the 10th of 100 speeches that I'm watching to make research on public speaking. The previous one was Truman's inaugural address. Frankly speaking, I was half-dreaming with open eyes while watching this dull performance. At the very beginning, I realized that I can perceive nothing of what he was saying, and let my mind wandering. There was an exciting idea that hit my imagination. I thought that all these people with their dreams and hopes, with their beliefs and convictions, with their pride and determination, with their rational desires and irrational wisdom (God, forgive for prescribing wisdom to politicians), with all their flesh and blood, are now dead. Then I made a turn and said to my mind, "No, the people are dead, and, probably, they had never been alive, but the dreams, hopes, beliefs, convictions, pride, determination, desires, and wisdom are still there. After that, I engaged in an inner dialogue about the nature of reality and didn't notice how this talk has been finished.

This was the second best inaugural ceremony to have ever happened in the history of the United States in my opinion (unless the 2025 inauguration or inaugurations that succeed it will be really good), with George Washingtons being first, but this one has the best inaugural address, in my opinion. Better than the 1953 one or what preceded it, and better than inaugurations that succeeded it (since 1981 except for good ones like 2009 and 2021 its been extremely biased and talking about why they should take the role of president A LOT). George Washingtons, Obama's first one, FDR's, Biden's, Lincoln's second one, and Thomas Jefferson's are runner ups to the speech in this one. I don't like JFK's inaugural speech but I do like his other ones more as his inaugural one was just too weak in my opinion. Plus, this one isn't your typical inauguration that you expect.
