Music can be universal like that. What really matters, in my opinion, is your life experience and the lyrics of a song from any genre, as long as it makes you feel.

I’m 75, I’ve listened to country music all my life, and that riff towards the end of the song with Pete and Flaco is absolutely as good as it gets. Amazing pairing of guitar and accordion. I’ve listened to it a thousand times over the years, and it’s wonderful to sit here and watch them perform it. Dwight Yoakam stands alone at the top of my all-time favorite artists list, and this song is one reason why...

Damn, after hundreds of views it finally donned on me. This song is a corrido. If you don't know what a corrido is it's [a ballad in a traditional Mexican style, typically having lyrics that narrate a historical event and/or a tragedy]. The words are in English but the soul wretching sound from the accordion is what does it. Dwight Yoakum is a musical genius.

Well first they would have to be a hiillbilly from Kentucky that sounds like a legend, Buck Owens. Then they'd have to move to California to incorporate some of that sound. Then they'd have to go to Texas and find a legendary accordion player like Flaco Jiminez. Pretty easy, huh? I think Tyler Childers could maybe pull off some of it, can't think of any other new artiists that could...

Man Dwight was a game changer by bringing in one of the legends on the accordion, and by god he made some of the best sounding country music ever

Dwight always is impressive with mixed cultural music it was more emotional, actually almost teared up listening to the lyrics. And I love Tejano Tex-Mex Country music, definitely got to me miss Texas.

I´m from Sweden and I was lucky enough to be introduced to Dwights music in the late 1980´s by a friend who had spent a couple of years in NYC and I´ve been a fan ever since. I feel very blessed that I saw him live in Stockholm in 2015, Dwight and the band was just fenomenal.

Really everything about this song is brilliant...I would put it shoulder to shoulder or even above any country song ever it is that good. This resonates to core of humanity and its dark angels. The lyrics are peeled down to the bare bones every word has impact with his delivery. It comes across as he is truly telling his dark story of heartbreak and the darkest revenge and justice.
