Tip: if you get hit by something invisible, run in the opposite direction, log out, close Minecraft, open it again, and join back. That should make it visible, if not, reload texture packs. That should save you from dying next time

There's a chance mobs could Despawn if you combat log. Unless you've done something that makes them unable to despawn. You'd best go all hell merry and fight to survive
