People, keep in mind that the 3DS and Wii U version (while are the same game) were meant for two different reasons. The one for the 3DS was obviously created for portability (unless you plan to bring your Wii U everywhere), and the Wii U version was clearly meant to have more capabilities with updates in graphics and controls. Overall, you can't really compare two systems that had two completely different purposes in displaying a single game. Plus, do keep in mind that not all of us can afford a Wii U.

I didn't have very good WiFi when I had Brawl, so the Emissary was pretty much all I had to play, besides the other offline modes, and I loved the hell out of it. I just find it so depressing that it was removed for a reason so shallow. I mean, what video game, in all of existence, doesn't have cutscenes online somewhere? They didn't remove them from any other game, so why this one?

I super agree with that. And considering that Smash Run and to a greater extent Smash Tour are kind of limp and uninteresting, it makes that lack of a story mode hurt my opinion of Smash 4 so much more. Mechanically it's an awesome game, but with no in-game cutscenes or boss fights, and with the characters being so easy to unlock, there's very little fanfare in any of it. I don't play competitively and most of the time I don't even play with other people, so I was p. bummed by the comparatively lame single-player options.

I agree, even though I never really returned to the Subspace Emissary. It made Brawl feel like a complete game; in my opinion, Sm4sh feels very empty, soulless, and lacking content without an adventure mode. So far, PvP is the only fun I've had with Sm4sh and that's it really.

Adrian Beaky Yeah, I agree with the points you brought up. I ended up unlocking every character from just playing with my girlfriend for a couple of hours, pretty much. You started out with so many characters, too, which I thought was a bummer. Pacman, Mega Man and the like could really have stood to be near-end unlockables, since they were such interesting characters. I can honestly say I much prefer Brawl over Smash 4.

Please understand. Sakurai said that he didn't want the cutscenes to feel like they were rewards, that way the game could focus more on the player having fun opposed to them just playing extensively for the chance to watch a short clip.

His reasoning was obviously pretty dumb, but I'm pretty sure the other reason it was excluded was because if they were to include a story mode, the game would probably not have been released by now. They wanted it out as soon as possible.

The simple fact was a lot of the more vocal people did not care about it, or downright disliked Subspace Emissary, even though a lot of people liked it.

Can Bowser fly?

The thing is that re sizing works for certain characters, and doesn't for others. This isn't rocket science dude. Just stop hoping for ridley to come in, it's not going to happen.

Bowser's size has varied in a ton of games. It doesn't feel unnatural to have him the size he is in Smash. Ridley, however, has always been giant and it would feel weird if he was shrunk down to fit the fighters.

To be fair, we always had cut-scenes and playthroughs always being uploaded on the internet. Sometimes, the game's cutscenes actually gets uploaded before the game is even released, causing early spoilers. A good example I can think of is Sonic Forces, people actually had early access to the Nintendo Switch version before the game was even released, and fans can't help uploading playthroughs of it before it's actual release. This same thing actually happened to Sonic Mania. If Super Smash Bros Ultimate included a story mode, than I'd be worried that this 'people can get early access to the lastest Switch game before it officially comes out' thing would happened to Ultimate again, and you know what LPers are like. So, in other words, I actually agree with Sakurai in this case.

The fact that he was committed at all is amazing, especially considering that he did not want a sequel for brawl in the first place. Imagine how EA would have handled this. Most Smash Bros fans weren't ALIVE when Duck Hunt was a game. I even know all the moves B&K would have, and would have made for a much more compelling dual-character since the removal of Ice Climbers. If Ness was not literally a godlike Japanese pet character of the developers, he wouldn't have made it in in the first place. Duck Hunt is a worse step backwards, and a desperate gag character. The bear and bird would be a little bit of Yoshi, a little bit of Bowser, they could fly/float like Peach/Charizard/MetaKnight, their egg attacks would vary in cycles like Peach's turnips, his save jump would be the Flap-flip backflip. The combos write themselves, and there is so much that could be drawn from the games for their Final Smash. Mumbo and Bottles and Grunty could have been Assists or Trophies, and THERE IS JUST SO MUCH THEY COULD DO.

Unlike Sega and Capcom, Microsoft has their own console so unless if Nintendo buys the franchise it's going to be next to impossible to get the rights. Sure Banjoe and Kazooie would be a much better edition than Duck Hunt Duo but Nintendo can only do want they can do.

The difference is between those characters and ones already in Smash is that either Nintendo owns the character or they are owned by a company that Nintendo are friendly with like Sega or Capcom. Microsoft has the Xbox so they are rival companies. Nintendo wouldn't license a Microsoft game either if they could do it for free. Like the Donkey Kong Country series Nintendo would have to buy the Banjo and Kazooie series and keep in mind that both Nintendo and Microsoft would have to agree to this. To conclude everyone would love to have on Smash but getting them on Smash would be extremely difficult. If Microsoft was a 3rd party company then it would be different.

Not really. Ridley is about the same size of Bowser and Ganondorf combine. Ganondorf is at least 10 feet tall. Bowser is usually 8 feet tall. Ridley is 15 - 18 feet tall depending on the game.
