My buddy has a 2009 HD Ultra Classic and his tire was balanced with one of these "tire balancing machines". After surpassing 8,000 miles he noticed a significant vibration in his front end. I took it out for a ride and the mirrors were shaking so badly that I couldn't see a car behind me if it was 10 feet behind me! I brought it home and placed it on my ATV lift and spun his wheel with my high speed buffing machine on the side of the tire. It was definitely out of balance and still had the lead weights on the rim. I removed the weights and added the appropriate amount of Dyna beads and it was smooth as silk and the vibration was completely gone. Say what you want but I'm a believer for life. Screw those high dollar tire balancing machines, BIG waste of money if you asked me.

With all due respect, you will feel like a fool for posting this if and when you actually understand how bead balancing works. You CANNOT test them on a dynamic balancer. Your test is completely useless. The tire must be riding on the road as it would when in actual use. It cannot be on a stationary shaft such as your balancer. I suggest that you study and understand the physics involved and when you finally understand the principle, delete your video because it makes you look foolish.

let me guess..... he makes money balancing tires? i guess that balancing beads take away from his profession. I would tell people that they don't work too.

i drive a international rollback and i can tell u if a shop dosnt install the beads its like driving on a cobblestone road even at 30 mph the beads they use are really small stainless ones and they make a big difference in the heavy tires.

I see what everyone is saying but the machine spins the tire for around 3-5 seconds and it spins the tire around 30 mph. These beads may work in a cruiser tire. But I asked why don't any race bikes use these in their set up and on dyna bead company's website they said race tires contain an oil that may cause clumping. This customer complained about a hop around 90 mph and after we removed the beads and used stick on weights it eliminated the hop can anyone explain that?

The automagic centropical balancing beads didnt have enough frictional velocity to ignite the reactor core of the tread bearings. Therefore if you would have run the tire on a bike, the tire contacting the road surface would have released photonic pulse waves throuought the inside of the tire. These waves interact with the beads on a malfunctionally dynamic level, causing the beads to congregate toward the lighter side of the tire. Obviously spinning it on a balancing machine just WILL NOT work.

You're missing the fundamental dynamics of how the beads work. In a single explanation: your balancer axle is too rigid. The wheel has to be mounted on a suspended axle for the beads to do their thing. Take that wheel, put it back on the bike, on the center stand and spin the wheel. It will balance.

The beads do not start balancing the tire until higher speeds where the motion of the tire spinning places them oppisite of the heavy spots in the tire. So unless your machine can spend the wheel at highway speeds, it'll never show up as balanced

not acurate without the up and down motion of the highway. The test is flawed. The real test has been played out on the highways of Norrt America for years, or as they say, the proof is in the pudding.

The reason it don't balance,its because the centrifuge force make it sticks to the surface ,on a static axle , Physics. To balance it need to have movements on the actual axle ,so the beads can move themselves to the counteract position of the force being applied

On Dyna Beads FAQ: "Can I put the tire on a balancer to see if it's working?" Their response: "No. Dyna Beads operates on physics principles, and requires the tire assembly to be in motion against a road surface to detect the exact counterbalance position. An electronic balancer has a solid, fixed mount, and does not allow the tire to react to imbalance." They should explain the physics principles on their site.

Tire balancers measure the imbalance without the tire movement. My understanding is that beads require the up and down movement of an imbalanced tire to redistribute themselves. Without the movement, the beads will balance nothing. Am I seeing this wrongly?

You can not check wheel balance on a balanced with beads in it. Doesn't work that way unfortunately.

I have them in my bike and swear by them, they work great! Also 50g is a TON of weight?!! Usually it only takes 2-3g to balance a tire, and the beads don't weigh that much either, so something else is off here.

it doesn't matter how long you run it for on the machine. the reason it doesn't balance on the machine is because the center hub is stationary on the machine. If the hub were not stationary, like on an actual motorcycle, they would work. They work by using physics. A normal tire moves with vibration. The beads naturally move to 90 degrees from the imbalance and slowly migrate and eliminate the imbalance. On your machine, it does not move with imbalance...they work in real life, but not on a fixed axle tire balancer.

Now put them on a 35" off road tire with a nice flat tread and see the magic happen!

for everyone that's saying they work your full of it I just purchased the dyna ceramic beads and they don't work it actually made my bike feel less stable alot of times I ride an fzr and I wanna know how to remove them

Actually I"ve heard they don't work well over 90mph for some people. Not sure why that is but I can tell you they worked better in my cruiser tire than traditional weights. Took the vibrations clean out. My guess is that tire had too much in it (if it was the same as the other video) and were clumped. They would never work if they are clumped up.

Also I have seen individuals put Dyna beads with Tyre sealants that obviously wont work. And these electronic balances are not accurate I have balanced tyres electronically and with static balancers, get better results with a static balancer.

50 grams is... 1.7637 oz. Motorcycle usage is 2 oz max. Hmmm. What do you want to bet there's 1.75 oz of beads in there that the machine is reading wrong because it's static, not dynamic?

And if this is off the same bike that showed all the beads clumped in the tire, there was way too many beads for them to work properly. When you removed the beads and added stick ons,, how much weight did it take to balance ?

These thing work automagically. Much like automagic transmissions.

As stated you aren't spinning it hard or fast enough. Plus read everywhere. A balancing machine won't show what you are looking for. I can attest that they do work great. I put them in an unbalanced tire that was was noticeably bad. No vibration after installing them.

It only takes 2-3 g to balance a tire? Considering the smallest wheel weight is a 1/4 ounce = 7 grams, it takes far more than that to balance the vast majority of wheels.

And don't use the excuse that there wasn't enough beads because the customer contacted the company and he did exactly as they said and it still had a hop.

This is bogus, been running Dyna Beads for years in motorcycles, and my car all with glass smooth rides. Website also explains why balancing machines will not give true indications when using beads. I would be skeptical as well if they haven't proven effective through use.

You have to run the beads for more than the one second you are doing... Run it for 5 to 10 seconds and then see what happens

I have mud tires that won't hold weight's on the rim's. I tried the bead's and they ran smooth. I'm talkin about mud tires that are out of round from the get go and Dyno bead's fixed the problem. I'm not sure why it's not workin hear. I'f you want to run 44 bogger's down the road and not have your dash ripped apart Dyno Bead's are the answer. You just might need a shit load for tire's that big.

But you have to trust us that the balance beads work because you can't prove it with a balancing machine

most fail videos leave out key things like most balancers don't run long and that untrained guys use way to much lube mounting the tire. Beads will stick to the lube. in this video the unbalanced mark stayed in the same place but amount needed changed... clear prof of over lube.

It takes more than a second. It's never going to be balanced that fast. Next time just say you don't understand physics.

I've been using Dyna beads for over 40,000 miles in my cycle. in the tire shown in this video the dumb dumb must have over 5 ounces of beads!! that tire SHOULD have had NO MORE then 2 ounces MAX! plus, there's no vehicle around that has an axil that doesn't move up/down like a fixed balancer shown in this video. I use 1.5 ounces in my front tire, and 2 ounces in the rear. Avon 150/80HR17 Front,180/70HR16 Rear (radial)

Sorry but it is true....you can not use a machine to check the beads. There is no road force and you will never see it balance on a machine. These are used in millions of tires around the world and work great. Millions of happy customers can not be wrong. You should have taken that tire off the balancer ....put it back on the bike and went for a ride...you would have seen for your self.
