It's not dead, it's taking a break :) Well, I started a new job a few months ago and it's been a bit crazy and I am also in the middle of a move. Once i'm all settled, with my new home office, I'll start recording again. Thanks for all the support thus far, I'm glad my dumb little tutorials are helping some people.

Exsulator Because ncloth is moving the vertices, not the object itself. The lower chain’s transformations in world space aren’t changing so doing a constraint won’t work. That’s why using rivet, which constrains onto component edges works.

I'm using the latest, 382.05. This happened to me before, there was a driver that caused issues with maya freezing, but that was a little while ago. It could also be a lot of other things, maybe try uninstalling maya and deleting all maya folders and preferences and start fresh.

Ah thanks man, good to know 382 is stable. Yeah I did a complete maya and even OS refresh. Turns out it was bonus tools 2017, had to disable a specific script. it was a bit hard for me, had to figure it out my self. I will try to explain what I did: first: throw the rivet.bmp file into the folder "C:\Users\*UserName*\Documents\maya\*YOURVERSION*\prefs\icons" second: in maya, go to the shelf editor and, on the shelf named "Custom" create a new icon(under shelf contents), name it Rivet, and locate the icon where you've throw the Rivet.bmp third: open the file "rivet.mel" with a text editor and copy everything inside it. last: back to the on the shelf editor window in maya, go to the "command" tab and paste what you copied. if you did everything right, you should have the Rivet Tool under the Custom tab by now. Ask if anything wasn't understood.

Check the Rigidity settings and Mass. Try Rigidity of 1.0 and reduce the Mass, also you can reduce the gravity in the Nucleus.

Manish Kapoor yes you can. Just be aware as scenes get heavy you will start to eat up more and more ram. At work I'm usually hovering at about 20gb of ram on heavy scenes. Some go way over 32gb.
