@@PrivateSi There is telepathy but it's very subtle, slight if you will - whether its existence is significant or meaningful, I don't know. I've experienced it many times but it's never seemed to result in anything particularly important. If one is looking for the so-called paranormal to behave like the normal, bad luck. But if your mind is open to the possibility that there are forces at work that are not readily detectable, measurable or repeatable by standard means, it's quite interesting. I don't know if Sheldrake is a genuine fraud (nice tautology btw) or not, nor whether he is deluded. I don't really care, at time of going to press :)

@@PrivateSi I like this sort of contrast because there can only ever be better science to be had on the subject. I believe in Spinoza'a God and pantheism. This sort of falls in line with that vein of scientific inquiry and our natural state of being. Same goes for the Jungian philosophy which is one in the same. I understand your reasoning. I simply disagree with you on the fundamental levels of questioning and methodology. I think he is scratching the surface of it all.

@@gradualpull2171 What sound, decent evidence do you have for you beliefs? Sheldrake has provided none, only manipulated stats and provably wrong conclusions... I despise Liberal secularism, as an anti-theist, and pick'n'mix liberal attitude to religion... Secular Humanist Liberals let anything go, and anyone in. Jung is a psychologist, don't confuse his archetypes with some kind of physical shared external consciousness.. I find the fact people want there to be such a thing disturbing. We could not function as individuals in such a system. It's like if the Commies/Lefties/Far Righties got their way and turned humanity into mostly cyber-controlled drones... What are your views on Transhumanism?

@@PrivateSi Have you ever considered that the position of anti theism to be of a proverbial bias? I mean the data itself cannot implicitly prove anything Sheldrake has aforementioned but it can be hinted at from the philosophy it shares with the nature of being. "Liberals" as you put it seem to certainly instigate some sort of fascistic take on how you interpret the data. As much as I tend to agree with you for the the most part the fundamental failings of science to explain anything other than behavioral relationships leads me here. Coming together from religion and science holds true with those of us who do believe in these sorts of positions. Transhumanism to me has a lot to do with the classic free will argument. I believe that there is no free will and only through achieving a nirvana state can we ascend to higher order thinking and truly will the body, which is a tall order to prove or have insight as to how this works. We are sooner to be augmented human cyborgs of rudamentary design than say come to spirtual enlightenment. There is knowledge in that both our positions can only exist with the other. You wouldnt know of your studies as true if you didnt relegate some validity to rationalize the data in this way. I disagree with you on the fundamental levels of how we understand the science. At least if we got into it, this would be where we split hairs.

Beautiful insight. Given that the universe is a fractal, it's no surprise to see self-similarities across all scales - from the pattern of a water molecule to the shell of a turtoise. I believe so do ideas vibrate at different frequencies. The way we're able to replicate similar patterns In art that are formed in water molecules is a testimony to that. Unfortunately we seem to have fallen into a kind of anti-intellectualism, an intellectual dark age in which many people are frightened of new ideas. It's completely obvious, given the beauty we see around us, that the universe is intelligent and we're a product of that intelligence. It's blaringly obvious. All we gotta do is remove the wool from our eyes and see clearly. Rupert you're a force of nature and we salute you for sharing such profound, life-altering novel ideas with us ❤️

Rupert Sheldrake has given such a deep, delightful, wonder-inspiring presentation. His talk reminded me of the earlier work of Theodor Schwenk (1920-1986) and Hans Jenny (1904-1972), two pioneers in some of the areas he addressed. Schwenk explored how natural wave and vibratory patterns in water and air are manifested in biological forms and in art. His beautifully illustrated book, Sensitive Chaos: The Creation of Flowing Forms in Water and Air, Translated by Olive Whicher and Johanna Wrigley (New York: Schocken Books, 1976) explores this. Jenny coined the term cymatics, conducted experiments on morphology, resonance, and vibratory patterns with crystal oscillators and his tonoscope. His two volumes on cymatics show pictures of such Chaldni patterns, named for Ernst Chladni (1756-1827) who had discovered the phenomenon in 1787. Jenny's four books were published between 1954 and 1972.

Someone in the comment section noted the fascinating likeness of these patterns with stars. This holds true with other celestial bodies. I have a series of hunches- hunches which I can't shake, but which I won't stake my view of the world on. -Interesting scientific studies about water on the borders of "fringe" and "mainstream" science: Sheldrake is, I think, speaking at a conference dealing with exactly this. There are properties shared by every element on the periodic table; every element except water. This suggests that water holds a sui generis place in the cosmos. Some of this scientific work has focused on identifying electromagnetic properties intrinsic to water, electrical energy which can be harnessed. -The notion of the electric universe: I think the notion of an electromagnetically centered cosmology probably will end up being right, as opposed to the gravity-centered cosmologies dominant at present. That said, I am unhappy with how the proponents of "electric universe" ideas are behaving, both internally and in public relations. At this point, it is a web of ideas lacking the integration of a theoretical-physical model which can generate specific and substantive predictions. What it needs are a team of professionally trained physicists and cosmologists who work "outside the camp" of the academy and its social structures. At this point, the ideas are rich and full of exciting potential, but lacking the rigor that must ultimately define a successful theory of cosmology. -I am fascinated by the idea of an electromagnetic cosmology because of the rich philosophical and traditional associations it carries with it. The particle of electromagnetism is the photon. We are talking about light. For EU, the webs of stars are something like a web of Christmas lights wrapped around the trees. The lights are arranged with respect to one another according to their position on the dark wiring. At a distance, the wiring simply blends into the tree. But each light shines because of a single current flowing through the whole web. So a galaxy is brightened by a current flowing through the stars, tying them together and filling the Heavens with glory. -The large-scale structure of galactic clusters appears to correlate in a precise and nonrandom way with neural networks in our mind. Other branching-tree patterns do not fit with nearly the precision and likeness that the neural link does. What's running along our vast neural web? Electricity! While this is certainly not empirical proof, this is what presses the hunch upon me so intensely. Not to mention that there is clearly a mathematical link between the equations of gravity and the equations of electromagnetism. There is a deep connection between the two that is indicative of a deeper unity than is yet understood. Some have suggested that the patterns described in gravity are intelligible mathematically as artifacts of large-scale electrical behavior. I don't have the skill to evaluate the claim, but I find it interesting. -So let's consider the above as aspects of a single picture. Water is the primordial element. It is nearly ubiquitous in the stories of the world's creation that it begin with a vast, dark cosmic sea. In the Torah and certain other creation stories, it is the divine Word which breaks into the primordial ocean and shapes it into the rich and varied cosmos we delight in. And that Word first utters "Let there be light!" So think about the patterns in which sound can shape water. And consider that in relation to the imagery of electromagnetic currents arising out of the properties of water when it is shaped and directed according to certain patterns. Think of a vast cosmic sea pushed and pulled and formed by the utterance of the Creator's word. Think of a whirlpool in the cosmic sea, that whirlpool generating immense electrical energy and ultimately "crystallizing" into a spiral galaxy. Think of enormous waves of lightning ripping through the primordial sea, shaping it according to forms which crystallize into grand celestial webs of light, rippling through Deep Heaven. As I said, I will not die on this hill. I don't have the mathematical skill or empirical knowledge to defend EU from an empirical and scientific point of view. But I am quite familiar with the symbolic world inhabited by normative humanity, prior to its artificial disenchantment. And the conceptual links give me reason to watch the development of the discipline with intense interest.

thank you for sharing your thoughts, but how do the proponents of the EU than see gravity as a phenomenon. Even if gravity would be exchanged by electro magnetism for the very big picture of cosmology, there would be still classical physics in particular where gravity is not challenged neither to describe the problems nor to find their solutions.

m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l9VifcmemJu8lXk.html Fascinating overlap with input conditions and pattern generation. Snowflakes bring the 3rd dimension into play in a more influential way, perhaps you could think of temperature as another channel of information. Interesting to think about the pattern of ice crystal formation in a static body of water and how both Rupert's experiments and these snowflake results show that both formations are effectively quite tolerant to noise, i.e. the signal is strong enough that it is not lost due to environmental interferance. One would imagine, it might be difficult to restrain water to high enough accuracy to ensure repeatable crystal growth, and perhaps the information saved would be of lower density and potentially harder to read. Interesting possibilities though, given the abundance of the raw material and ease of processing vs semiconductor based information storage devices. If one were to engage in wild speculation, perhaps the sea already knows things we don't...

Seeing these patterns as analogous to an MRI displaying biological structure. But rather than observing cross sections of a human brain for example, these vibratory patterns are revealing multi dimensional patterns or fields of energy being the fabric of the universe itself. The "cross sections" being the wave structure displayed at a given energy level or frequency. Thinking in terms of analog models also at least suggests the patterns are harmonic and connected, perhaps at all scales, from the quantum world to inter-galactic distances. Amazing, visionary work being done here.

Think the same in regards to EM waves instead of sound. Atoms have specific frequencies and molecules are like a harmonious symphony. Together they may produce EM resonance, producing specific types of interactions between molecules of different composition, ergo: cellular functions.

This is absolutely amazing....I frequently contemplate why Dr. Sheldrake refrained from labeling the concept of morphic genetic fields as gravitational fields, as it appears that they are very similar in description. And that these fields have been inherently present since the inception of life, encompassing all sensory information and memories, including sound. Moreover, these fields permeate all existence. Additionally, I would venture to propose that when someone utters your name within a reasonable proximity (some quite far open space), certain individuals might perceive it audibly or scient manner. Hence, it is plausible that gravity and the morphic fields could be fundamentally identical phenomena, merely characterized by distinct appellations and approached from different scientific perspectives.

It seems as though we are all linked by a harmony which we can see here and it’s like a peak behind some curtain which is full of the answer to “the question” and yet again it seems so obvious as to be impossible for us to understand. It’s the meaning of life but the meaning is inexplicable. And so beautiful. It’s as though to understand you must not try to pin it down because to find the answer would be to invalidate this particular answer. 🦋

I'm not sure what to make of this. On one hand it seems pretty simple: standing wave patterns (resonant modes) with circular symmetry due to the cylindrical sample holder (circular boundary condition). Is there anything more to it ?

It would add to understanding of vibratory patterns to mention that they are not inherent in the frequency, but are a result of the relationship between size and shape of container, and frequency of vibration.

Is there yet an idea which systems could be modelled by a water droplet analogue computer? I'd assume that kind of system would need to obeye the same (or similar) principles that govern the eigenmodes of the water droplet, but the properties of that other system would need to be hard to predict, such that it would make sense to model it with the droplets. The flowers and other shapes in biology which you showed are somehow of the opposite kind: We do know their shape, but it is not quite clear if/how the principles that determine their shape are related to the principles that govern the shapes of the water droplet modes.

around 14:36 when he is talking about the single water drop that morph's into a bug/cockroach looking thing, I find it interesting that you can see the wave move thru the water which is creating the design. Like, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, etc and the sound wave is moving thru the drop. left to right.
