We're finally get some numbers out of this 305 sbc based 339 stroker. A huge thanks to the guys over at @HorsepowerProvingGrounds and thier hub dyno for putting up with us and helping to squeeze all the power we could out of it. The little 339 took a beating. 17 pulls at just over 7k rpm.
THanks @SummitRacing , @RAMClutches , @NitrousExpressVids , @TeamSpeedmaster79 , Schoenfeld headers, Dss Racing Pistons, and many others for the parts and support to make this happen.

I did say 348 HP I was close the CCP is begging for turbo. I’ll bet 630 at 11 psi and a big smile when It spools. Excellent work especially on a 305 block. Add. 2-120$ turbos and 200 in pipping maybe 1k in odds and ends for double the HP Your engine can handle 20 ill bet great work

@@SquarebodyStuff so it's possible that it's making 1.25 hp per cubic inch at the crankshaft without nitrous?
@SquarebodyStuff
@SquarebodyStuff 7 ай бұрын
Looks that way. Without accessories it made 332 to the wheels. Not bad for a small cube that still has enough vacuum for power brakes. 😉

I've been playing around with a 305 in a 77 short stepper. Previous owner installed a 600 holley 4160 and has 2.5 inch duals running out the back. Its a 84 goodwrench engine with 416 heads. I installed a afr gauge and ran vacuum gauge inside truck. This summer i dropped from 31 squirter down to 21 and installed green cam on it. I installed a 10.5 pv to get fuel sooner bc jets were close but it dumped the fuel when pv came in. I drilled out the power valve channel restrictors tapped them for brass set screw and resized them .006 smaller. It helped tremendously!! I do need to tune secondaries by throwing bigger jets at the qft plate. It was fun playing with it and i helped a couple people out at cruise ins after showing them what im doing😊

@@SquarebodyStuff Sure cringed when you started out and she was breaking down through the one pull. If that's the same cam from the nitrous build, then it's safe to say there's a LOT more on the table if someone wants to build one with a tighter LSA on the street without hitting the juice. I'm impressed. It's gonna be an animal on the spray. Stumpy will be tickled! 🤠👍🍻 Can't wait!

We had some bugs to work out at first. still ha a little stumble on tip in. I forgot all my carb tuning stuff. It needs more squirter. I think the heads would handle a little more cam, but I liked the characteristics of this one. Yes its the same cam I had in it before. Summit 1107. good grind for hot street and power adders. Enough vacuum for brakes and plenty of chop chop! 😅😅😅

That’s the difference in the oval port heads on the big block and the tuned port heads on the small block. The oval port heads don’t flow enough for higher rpm in the big block, but they’re an improvement over peanut port heads

A stick should eat less power than an automatic, but I'm sure that heavy 465 and 14 bolt are eating their fair share. The little 339 is a solid 400 hp at the flywheel if I had to guess. Awesome!

@@SquarebodyStuff they say that the two front piston rings in the front should always be a little wider but a little bit more clearance cuz they tend to get a little hot. The top one only it kind of makes sense. But yes, I was impressed with the power output from a 305 imagine if you were to port the intake you would have give a little more push I believe the very top first ring you got me motivated to stroke out my 305 to be honest with you I'm curious what would have happened if we were to copy that GTP 3.8 supercharged Pontiac the lobes cam to transfer into a 305 like a duplica. I wonder what would happen if we would make more power
