Glad you have this machine working it really is a cool piece of history. I had forgotten until the end when you showed how much it picked up how well these did clean.

Hey Alex, Thank you, thankfully it was just simple fixes on it to get it back to running good. I will have to do another video on it soon with the new set of brushrolls. I was really surprised at how much it picked up. Glad you like the new endings to these videos where I give a bit of an overview and see what they pick up. Stay Safe buddy

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be getting a dc15 and also dc26 city but I'm 100% getting the dc01 and looking forward for seeing it next week

I use one of these in the animal version as a daily driver and it’s an excellent cleaner, only issue is we have super thick carpet which causes the head to jump on the backwards pass.

They are really good, unfortunately there aren’t many vacuums that can deal with those high density thick carpets, a collector friend gas his whole downstairs in your type of carpet and it’s a buggar, looks amazing when vacuumed with all the carpet lines.

I always remember these back in 2005 but it had that backwards handle that apparently is exclusive to the US market that is very uncomfortable to hold and saying in my head what were dyson thinking

I didn’t find it bad to move around to be honest, it was surprisingly manoeuvrable and picked up well. Looking forward to trying it now with the new brushrolls. Glad you enjoyed my friend.

I find blowing out the upper cyclones with my air compressor really helps .

When you place your hand over the wand intake while the vacuum is on, is the motor supposed to surge? I just got one of these as a garage / car vacuum and my wand doesn't surge for a little more *oomph* in tight places. If I place my hand over the direct intake (side of vacuum) with the canister OFF, it does surge. Perhaps this design keeps constant suction (no surging) via the cyclonic action?

Now it does depend because they are fitted with a pressure release valve that stops that so the motor doesn’t overheat, which is good for the machine, but sometimes yeah, you need that localised extra suction.

I feel like dyson have always lied in the advertising... "no filters to clog" but they do have filters and as we all know can be very prone to clogging

They’ve more stretched the truth and exaggerated, but to be honest every single company does, always have and always will.

@@HooverLux this is true, every company bends the truth and unfortunately we fall for it each and every time! I do like Dyson though, they've done some great things and I deeply respect the charity work they've done with the special release machines for cancer, meningitis ect.

My sentiments too, they used to do good charity editions etc. Sebo still do now, more companies should do more.

@@HooverLux I'm suprised Numatic have never done a charity special edition machine. It's great publicity for the company surely. I know it's not about the publicity but let's face it companies thrive off publicity.

@@HooverLux On an unrelated note, I've unfortunately just had to send a moaning email to a local vacuum repair shop as I paid for a full service on my DC04 De Stijl which included a clean and sanitise to a high standard. But when they gave it back I found dust in loads of places. Very annoying to deal with while I'm recovering from a double lung surgery! They did replace the clutch so they did tinker with it but how close to as advertised is what I want to know.
