My ever so generous husband surprised me with the Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer after a few hints and I COULD NOT WAIT to try it out! I feel like there's so much hype around it, but does it live up to it?
In today's video I share my first impressions and my results of the first 2 times I tried out the Dyson supersonic diffuser on my wavy hair.

My Dyson was a 64th birthday gift from my sweet husband. I hate that it was so expensive, but I LOVE how light and the quiet it is. I have 2a 2b waves consisting of fine low porosity graying hair. It dries quicker using my Dyson and is much easier on my wrists and shoulders. I thank my hubby every day for this gift.

Aww that's so heartwarming! ❤️ How sweet 🥺 I feel like I need to play around with it more because so many people love it, I must be doing something wrong? 😂 Yesterday I used it on soaking wet hair and I noticed it dried quicker

The dyson diffuser is terrible, but the hairdryer is amazing. I use the segbeauty diffuser on the dyson. If you use the dyson on a colder settings that your usual hairdryer, it'll take longer to dry. Take the time to play more with it, you'll end up liking it I'm sure!

Thank you! I'm going to wash my hair again tomorrow so I hope I get better results. On my old hairdryer I usually do medium heat, but the dyson felt so hot I could barely handle low 😂 I'm going to try and do it hotter tomorrow

@@wavygirljessie I wasn't suggesting to do hotter, I thought maybe that's why it's longer than some other ppl. Personally I use it on 1 dot of heat and 1 dot of air! I found that the gentle air flow of the dyson dratically reduces frizz. I wish you good luck with your wash day!

oh thank god it's not just me, my hair looked EXACTLY like this after my first diffuse. I also used the attachment it came with but normally use the Xtava orchid. I got mine used and at a steep discount so I'm happy with it, but a little disappointed that it still takes 9 years to dry my hair.

Thanks for this video!! I truly believe a big part of the magic is in the diffuser. I was undecided on whether to get the dyson or not since I’m needing a new hair dryer, but after watching your video I’ll stick to a regular hair dryer and keep using my old reliable diffuser.

I'm glad you liked it! I was honestly debating sending it back but I've kept it haha. I'm glad I have, but I'm not sure if it's just the idea of having a Dyson that makes me happy. I will say I've found it great when I refresh, I do notice it's quicker at drying my hair on refresh days

Feels luxurious but is the performance luxurious? Yeah... no. No frizz is nice but definition? I agree the diffuser is small, for my hair I don’t know how I would like that. I think I’m saving my money. I want that gama diffuser :( I can’t find it. Love this review!

Yess save your money! I bet I could get a dupe for cheaper 😅😂 On the gama website you need to put your email down to get notified as soon as it's in stock, that's how I got mine 😉

@@wavygirljessie I used it twice and my hair came out frizzy. I feel it gets too hot on the lowest setting. I sent it back. I wanted to love it 😑

I purchased the Dyson a year ago and sent it back after defusing twice. Made my hair frizzy and defuser to small for my hair. I use the Xtava with my blower and get great definition and curls. Your hair looked shiny, but your curly waves did not look to defined much. Sorry 😞 ❤️

Aw that's a shame! I'm in two minds myself whether to keep it or not (I know my husband wouldn't mind) 😅 I think I'll give it a couple more tries and see how I get on

I got my Dyson the same day you did and have used it only twice. The jury is still out. I'd like to watch you try it longer rather than send it back so quickly. How much time do they give you to decide? I usually only wash once or twice a week, but maybe I need to bump that up. Do you wear you hair in other styles or only curly? I've not tried curly for very long so I don't have much to compare the Dyson to as I'm not experienced enough with the curly method. What result did you get using the small diffuser for fine hair? I found it produces too much "wind" unless I'm using it wrong.

@@jnorth9702 I've used mine just 3 times so far, I believe I have 30 days to return it so I may try and squeeze in 2 washdays a week to see how I feel about it. I tend to only do my hair wavy and I didn't the airflow to be strong compared to my other diffuser. The diffuser attachment is too shallow for my hair, it adds some definition at the bottom but then the top is either straight or a bit wonky. I've had better results using it with my bigger diffuser attachment 😊

I've had mine for 6 months and have noticed that my hair doesn't look any different than with my cheaper hairdryer. I only kept it because it was a gift.
