Dyson V6 battery. If you have forgotten to keep the battery on charge or it has been so long since you found your lost Dyson charger, cell voltage drop can cause the Battery Management System (BMS ) to go into red light fault. If you see 32 red flashes they say "contact Dyson" who will tell you to buy a new battery.
Have a look to see if you can fix yours.

When you get 32 red flashes the bms can be reprogrammed with a pickit 3 programmer, look it up.

Useful video! I rebuilt a Dyson v6 battery using new cells and new bms from aliexpress. Also tried buying new battery from Amazon but both run for 30seconds and then the vaccum starts pulsing. Any idea what is wrong?

Try complete disassembly and deep cleaning of filters or try running it with no attachments or filters to see if it is a suction problem

Hi..I have not opened the battery case..but was wondering if you can clarify some points in my Dyson:when I put on charger the light is blue..like if was charging.as soon as you remove to use..lights just blink red10 x.i dismounted the parts..removed the battery..and on pressing the trigger bottom..already out of the body..it blinks once blue and goes on green.DOES IT MEAN THAT THE MAIN ISSUE CAN BE THE BODY..NOT CONDUCTING THE CHARGE?

Unfortunately When the battery indicator light on your Dyson upright vacuum cleaner is flashing red, this means in the vast majority of cases that the battery is defective. I don’t think the main issue is the connection between the body and the battery .

Hi. One of my cells show 12.5v while all others read between 3.5v and 3.6v. What could be wrong?

When you measure the cells , be aware that sometimes the cells are still connected to adjoining cells. Hence you can get the high 12.5 volt reading. You sometimes need to actually disconnect the cells to check them properly.

The red light on my Dyson V6 flashes exactly ten times. Is that the motorhead or the battery that needs to be replaced?

Just clarifying, you say red led flashes ? Are they not blue ?

@@ChangasTube I think the red flashing means it’s time to either try and replace internal batteries or buy a new battery pack . Remember if you change the internal batteries the capacity should be the same for each cell . As per my video , maybe better to cut the old batteries out and weld on new tabs ( don’t try and take the tabs off the original batteries ).

I accidentally ripped off charging cables from the socket not the board. Now i don't know which is which. White is + and goes to the center of the socket or black

Looking at my old parts battery , normally the black is negative which goes to the outer terminal and the white is usually positive and goes to the centre . Sometimes to check , get magnification and see if you can match up the broken ends of the white with the broken bit on the centre terminal and same with black . See if the broken ends on the black wire match with what’s left on the outer ( lower ) terminal.

Thanks, now I have a bigger problem, all batteries are between 3.5 to 3.7 volts. I don't want to change the batteries and find its the bms's fault.

@@IOIIIIIIOI 32 flashes is supposed to mean the bms is sensing battery balance problem . If you are game just disconnect the cells separately and take them out . Try and get each cel back to 4 volts with a dedicated lithium ion charger and then put them back in . I’ve found it bms dies it isn’t worth buying a bms board .
