I see it has the deep groove alt pulley but is missing the second mounting bracket. They were doubled up to withstand constant visits to 7k-8k rpms. But I do appreciate that it has the factory correct valve covers. Little things like that are not hardly mentioned and constantly overlooked.

I have an old cross ram on my truck. Had it on for years. Paid $150 for it and then had it polished. They are rare. You don’t see a lot of them.

One thing here: the carbs shown are not the correct ones for this Dealer Installation setup. The correct carbs are the "cathedral bowl" Holley List 4295 mechanical-secondary carbs (GM Part # 3597895). BTW, Offenhauser made this very same intake manifold with its name on it ... which made me wonder who the actual manufacturer was: Winters or Offy. 🤔

I had one with the correct carbs and linkage but sold it to a guy in Minnesoto. I had a 55 chev at the time and could not bring myself to install it. A very attractive piece if I say so myself

I have a c5 z06 vette with cam,headers intake that runs great but they just aren't responsive like that! Those 302s really are fantastic motors. makes me wonder why everybody uses the new LS motors now a days.

Jerry Richardson the 68 and 69 302’s used a large journal 3” stroke crank. All 302’s used the 4” bore block so they were either 327 OR 350 blocks. So the 397010 blocks were used for the 302

my 69 sbc has no mounting holes on the heads and I dropped mine in my 32' roadster according to gm the engine with 30/30 cam factory 11;1 comp and twin quad's was capable at 435 to 485hp at 8000rpm,dont know myself I need to get mine dyno tuned still yet and I just broke in the engine at 2000 miles,one thing I know for sure it lites up my narrowed 9in up even crusing at 30mph with stock intake a Rochester carb, fantastic lil chevy engine zora designed and by the wayno smog pumps in 68/69 302's or any other engine back then

@kevins58339 жыл бұрын
how much extra hp did the cross ram add?
@GlassTopRX77 жыл бұрын
The main thing it did was allow the motor to make power past 6200rpm. Race version made around 480hp with open headers, ported heads, factory cam and compression ratio, cross ram and an early transistor ignition. Not sure where that peak power was achieve but it was likely the low 7000-7500 range with that cam profile. Stock the motor made ~355hp. Which lines up with expectations as it was the same hardware aside from the shorter stroke as the L76 365hp 327
@kevins58336 жыл бұрын

I'll take one of the "built" versions based off the 350, an original is not to be found. The "crossfire" intakes made in the eighties can be modded to look & perform like the old ones....Those headers are WAY impractical for anything other than a T-Bucket or the like. The drive belt arrangement will have to be re-done, not enough wrap on the WP....it'll throw that belt in due time.

This is not a 302. The number on the block 010 makes this a 350 block. Also it should have 186 casting heads if it were a 1969. 1967 and 1968 would have 462 or more than likely 492x casting heads. This engine isn't even a good fake.
@paradisian5 жыл бұрын
@@jerryrichardson987 The 010 block was used on many, many small blocks in 2-bolt and 4-bolt configuration. Beginning around April-May 1969 the DZ 302 did indeed begin using the 4-bolt version of the 3970010 block.
@302vettelife25 жыл бұрын
The 0.10 was the nickle content of the block. They came in .10 and .20. The 0.10 are always better for high performance applications. It has zero to do with the displacement.
