Technically, they reused Emerl's theme. This is the Phi's theme, which mimics a part of Emerls theme but also adds some robotic noises from the metal depot theme. Which is a neat touch, since the Phi's were basically copies of Emerl made by Eggman.

I was always keeping my ears open when fighting the random Phis. If one starts making clanging metal sounds when you hit it, watch out- it’s using Gamma’s moveset and WILL blow up in your face like he does when it gets KOed.

@@dreamcastdazia4753 If you have like a half of your health left, it kills you insteadly, YOU SEE HOW BULLSH*T IT IS TO BE KNUCKLES IN HIS STORY MODE!? Plus you have to fight them TWICE alone, and that doesn't help that Knuckles is the worst character to play in the game after Chaos 0.

The serial number means that the Phis' were created before Omega, who is E-123. Eggman had Emerl for a long time before sonic heroes.

So the weird thing for me was I didn't know this was the original theme and non-aggression was the remix. I actually played and beat Sonic Advance 3 before going back and getting Sonic battle...that I didn't know existed before I bought 3 It was weird but I still like both versions. I think I do like non-aggression a bit more though but this still rocks

As someone who has Old Greek as a subject, I can confirm, it has to be E-120. E-121 would be Chi (Χ,χ)

I mean, the numbers of the e-series have been borked since the beggining: E-101 Beta, E-102 Gamma, etc. This stems from the first robot of the series to be classified as E-100 Alpha, although everyone, even the game he appears in, calls him Zero.
