Dad. Love the video sure was fun to watch you doing "THE DRACO UPGRADE " I haven't done this to my DRACO. Yet but definitely would if I had the "DRACO UPGRADE " KIT. Hello Chris! A time ago I found your channel for looking after the Max Thurst Ruckus. Now I´m thinking about buying a used but almost new Draco for about 500€ maybe less and knowing the low points. Until now I have seen complaints about CG, tires (you said they were changed?), power and landing gear (front and rear). What should I consider if buying this used one, what do you think? Much appreciated to hear from you Master :))) Best regards to the UK, your channel is really cool, and it is nice to hear english accent instead of the most in RC spreaded american. Just my opinion :)

Glad you like the channel, it’s just my journey really. Well the Draco has not had her maiden as yet, but from people I speak to, it’s like marmite, either you like It or don’t. A must is to change the tyres and strengthen the undercarriage. If you don’t mind tinkering, I would say go for it. She is such a good looking plane and my friends that have flown her, said she is fun. As for the CG, that can always be sorted out, as I said, you need to tinker abit. But if she is going cheap and in good condition, then why not. I would say to search for the Draco and look at flights from channels that are true and not just say what they have been told. I know Mark, they should test the plane with a stage pilot and a pro pilot, then they would see the faults of the plane. Make a better plane and you will get more sales. Oh well, let’s hope the maiden will go well. Have a great weekend Mark🫡

Hello Chris, I watched the video of Just Plane Crazy accidentally. I enjoy your videos! How could I search for your epoxy glue, like "universal epoxy"? I only have one for metal which has been useful reinforcing plastic parts and the motor mount of my turbo timber. But it's very stiff so with too much flex or forces it tends to brake. But another question. Is it possible that this carbon gear brake? I understand that making it stiffer in one direction (inside) would help in rough landings or ground handling but I´m curious if someone has already broken it. I know from cycling that carbon can take a lot of flex without braking. And of course still having high normal strength. Shear strength is probably in the middle between "good" and "bad".. Hello Bavaria, the epoxy was just to hold it in place so the bolts secure it. As for landing forces, the force ends up on the bend, I have been told but not seen, this is we’re it tends to break. With the metal it will still bend slightly to take the force, but not break. I used the air filled tyres to dissipate more landing force, then the force through the undercarriage would be less any how. I intend to maiden her as soon as I get decent weather, when I am not working. Have a great day.

@DadsRCHangar yeah I had a bounce on landing and the part on the plastic shock that mounts to the upper portion snapped in half and the spring popped right out. I bought a new set of shocks but I just don't know enough about rc parts to guess what to get haha

We all in the same boat buddy, just research, what I do. And if I find something helped me, then I make a video. I have yet to maiden yet, so it’s possible I may have the same issue.

Isn't it a shame when you have to upgrade a plane that has come out of the box!! A company as big as Horizon should make these updates as soon as the failings are reported!! Good job though Chris, get it done now before any heartache and expense is incurred 😀👍

I guess if you have soft landings it will be ok. At the end of the day it all comes down to cost I guess. But this should have been flagged up in the testing phase, but I guess they get a super pro and not your average joe to flight test. That being said, I do like to tinker. 😎. To be honest. I've beat the crap out of my DRACO and the only thing I've managed to brake from bad landings is that big prop it's pretty fragile my landings gear are still pretty solid. But I did get my DRACO on the second batch not the first initial release. Maybe something got changed

I sent an email to that address in the link 2 weeks ago never got a reply so i am off to the Engineer company tomorrow. they shouldnt cost that much, thats why i wanted to know the thickness. I also wanted to upgrade the shock absorbers to something a lot better, Oil Filled Dampers or similar, but I cant find anything. I have the Tyres that I have upgraded. Only just bought the Draco second hand so I am looking forward to the upgrades, when i can get all that i want.

Sounds like some cool upgrades. Just had a look but I need to take the plastic off to see, and my bench has my boat on it at the moment. I would say it was no bigger than 4mm, but I will try make room tomorrow to look, got in late today.
