Can you program the sbus extender directly from the radio? Seems like that would be very handy and you wouldn’t need a dedicated programmer..

Hi Lee, It may be possible now, this was done around three years ago now. Best bet would be to look at the FRsky website and see if they have upgraded the unit and the way it can be programmed. Update all my receivers via my radio, so it’s possible you can do this now. I will have to look into it as well. Have a great day. 👍🏻

I too find myself needing to pass a test if i join a club and sit a CAA test to be legal and you pay a yearly fee now. Stiil have fun and enjoy your flying. You have a nice collection of planes hanging up ready to fly 👍

@monami5201 Thank you, Things have changed, but I am sure you will enjoy as you did. I have planes at the ready, but I will do more stick time with the trainer, then get some other birds in the air. My CAA needs to be done again next year I believe, I think it’s every 5 or 6 years. I think these days in the UK it weather that’s changed the most. Gone of the days when you knew it would be warm weather for June and July when I was young. Hope you sub and stick around to follow my journey in the sky. Have a great week ahead. 🫡

Awesome Job Chris🎉🥂. What a journey! Loved the Paul Heckles video clips. I miss our Friday sessions,💜🤟🏻. B cert would be amazing. I saw the A cert as passing my driving test, and freedom to just go and fly, and never gave further thought to the B cert. Well done you, seeing this video made me very happy💜🤟🏻

Thank you for your congrats, always means a lot when people comment. As for the racking, I did try with water piping, but my birds are abit heavy. So normal racking with water pipe insulation the cheapest. It’s good because I can move it about. Have a great Sunday and thank you again. 🫡

@@DadsRCHangar If I may suggest , I would stick to your high wing aircraft (trainers and the like) for a while get some flying time under your belt, if like most of us you flew to pass the A - now that you have you can now start to fly - and have a who new learning experience, You will crash (we all do) the best we can do is learn from our mistakes repair is possible and move on . good luck and may god have mercy on us all !! LOL...

@@DadsRCHangar Agree fly your "A" bird till the wings fall off then get yourself a low wing plane (not a scale bird) and fly it till the wings fall off 😂. Then you can start to tick off those planes you have been looking at in the hanger dreaming of flying.

The kit is designed for a wemotec mini fan which is a 69mm fan. The latest versions are super powerful. 50mm fan won’t fly the hunter.

I read one persons review and he said…”The one downside is the vynl type covering and the weak landing gear. The covering can get a bit warped in the sun but always returns to original form and the wrinkles do not affect the flight characteristics” Is the covering something other than iron on that i can get any wrinkles out of with a heat gun?

Well covering is expensive now, but a lot of people use Doculam, you can even spray it, using certain paints. The landing gear is weak, but you can get a stronger type made for you. I guess I don’t mind tinkering, and if it’s a project then you can have fun.

@@radioflitercairplanes1715 No this is covers in that sticky vinyl. It’s the Nexia version. I have a Hawker Hunter I am building, I will cover in Doculam and then tissue it with Dope, then spray. Apparently you can put a primer on Doculam.

at 18:20 you have the front of the fan pointing to the exit. The motor points towards the tail.

Heya Caroline, I was just using that as a demonstration how small the pipe was to the fan. I need to do some calculations on the (FSA) then I can get the correct tube size, then play around with the formers so the pipe fits. All good fun, I hope you had a great weekend. My two penneth worth Chris. I would make the 70mm George gave you fit to give it a chance on launch the 70mm will give it more thrust at lower speeds just due to diameter. Glad your getting out with the Alpha mate 👍

Chris glue it into the edf 1-2 mm back from when it hits the FAN - OR apply a little heat to the duct so it will mold over the Fan unit - also Trim some of the plastic and some of the wood away from where it sits and it will fit.. go for the 64mm or just make a part that will fit over the end of the duct that is a few more mm so it will fit - should be an easy fix - enjoyed the video - cheers
