A correctly trimmed plane should only fly faster with increased throttle. This plane likes to climb with increased throttle. The thottle causing a gain in altitude is distracting. This is precisely why a correctly trimmed powered plane should always have a certain amount down thrust built into the motor mount. I remember reading that the F6F Hellcat had 6 degrees propeller down thrust built in. The Night Vapor does have a little but not enough in my opinion. Because the model is finished there no way to induce more down thrust. An alternate solution is to trim more down thrust in the elevator. This has the same affect but it's accomplished from the tail end rather than at the front motor mount. Thanks for the demo.

Thanks for your interest and personal analysis of the UMX Night Vapor. It's a really enjoyable aircraft and great for a tight area! I actually prefer the elevator trimmed to pitch the plane up to achieve a slower flight speed and allows for a near hover in handling, which is actually really fun for a plane of this size and style! If you don't already have one, I would highly recommend giving it a try and see if you might like the ability to fly slower with a but of High-Alpha pitch via trimming. Thanks again for your interest and taking the time to share your thoughts! 👍🏻

@@HappyRCFlyer I too am an avid lover of floaters. At one time back in 1993 there were only three guys in the entire country who could build a rudder, elevator, speed control electric model under 16 ounces. Mine came in a 8oz and you could reach up and tap the wing as it flew by. The guy in Seattle modified a Comet stick and tissue P38 which was considered micro back then and he stole the show every where he went. As a scratch builder of super lights at one time I'm simply trying to show you my credentials to prove that I know what I'm talking about when trimming a plane especially the light ones. Back in the 50s and 60s I was also an avid pre RC freeflighter (just wasn't that big a fan of ucontrols) and free flights will teach you how to trim superbly. LOL So back to my original point. Yes I've just bought one and only test flown it once outdoors. I'm not going to write this in stone but I'll bet you I will get those slow floater speeds with less throttle than you, and best of all, I wont be dragging my tail around the sky looking something more like a moth than and Airplane. LOL

@bobcanada3656 Haha.. Nice, That sounds cool! Yeah, I enjoy watching the lightweight and microlite Indoor Fly-ins! If you enjoy the lightweight stuff, you would probably enjoy the Mini-vapor, Have you ever tried one of those? They are kinda tough to find these days though. And I'm sure not out to compete against anyone, I do it for fun and to encourage others in the hobby! 😁 If you don't like my slow flying Night Vapor, You would probably really cringe watching my fly the E-flite Vapor HP. It's a blast! 😄

@@HappyRCFlyer Not about my or your likes or dislikes. I meant this only to explain a correctly trimmed plane Increased throttle should only increase speed and not induce a climb. Plus hanging a plane on the prop is just a stunt in my opinion and is completely off topic when discussing proper trim.

@bobcanada3656 😁 Well, with a hobby such as RC and many other hobbies which I would define as open/freestyle hobby, as long as it's not dangerous to others than pretty much anything goes. I personally wouldn't say there is a right or wrong way of doing things if the person in control of the plane is achieving enjoyment than its all a big win! 🙂 (I had intentionally trimmed this plane to fly slow and with pitch up, that happens to be what I enjoy). The truth is, each person has their own style of flying and aircraft preferences and its very diverse. That's why the manufacturers make all sorts of airframes and in fact making a controller with the option to trim pitch from the controller vs being fixed pitch from the ground or from the manufacturer! 😁 As long as you are having fun with the hobby, it's a success.. and same goes for me or anyone else! 😃
