Claire is right about the high quality of Korean nail clippers! I was in visiting a small town in the USA when I realized I forgot to pack my nail clippers. The store I went to only had Korean ones. I bought 5 pairs.

I just shopped my local Super G Mart yesterday which provides international foods from a number of countries including a number of Asian specific lines, eastern european, hispanic and American foods. I remember looking at almost all of the items you showed yesterday. The weeks before I bought the everyday spoon/chopstick sets, and an economy Korean made 28" wok, yesterday I added the Hon Dashi, 2 packs of noodle soup multi-packs that I have not tried before, a jar of pickled cucumber with soy sauce, a variety of seasonings and replenished some of my cooking sauces. Your channel has helped me to see which ingredients I can do without and which really add to my cooking. So it was very rewarding to see so many of the items you mentioned actually available in the US at the Super G Mart. I did not buy kimchi at the market because I can actually buy it cheaper at the local Walmart for cooking and if I want a larger batch I just make it myself. Thank you for helping us all to enjoy Korean cooking and to anyone in North Carolina if you are looking for Korean cooking supplies there is a Super G Mart in Greensboro and one in Charlotte.

Grocery stores never get old for me. I've figured out that they're one of my happy places, especially when on holiday somewhere new. It's such a thrill going shopping in foreign countries, I love it! I don't even care if I sound sad. :D Thanks for this video guys, you reminded me of my last holiday in Japan where I bought everything Satoshi and Shinichi from Tabi Eats recommended I do. Seriously: I bought EVERYTHING they showed in their 2-part video series. All terrific suggestions. And your ideas here are excellent, I heartily back them up and regularly buy most of what you showed. Steel cutlery for Korean food is a great idea as the metal doesn't stain from strong flavours and chopsticks and spoons smell clean after you wash them, unlike wood which will more easily absorb strong flavours and smells. I miss travelling so much and can't wait to visit Jeju and Seoul. :)

The Kimchi Pancake mix (4 kits per box) Aaron showed has been available at my downtown Seattle Costco these past couple of months. My first kit was a learning experience (I overcooked it a bit), but I was pleased with the results of the second kit. Good stuff!

When I visited Korea we wrapped the soju bottles in bubble wrap and put it in our checked bag. One leaked, so wrap tape around the top. The metal caps aren't leak proof.

I bought Korean chopsticks and spoon in Insadong and now I am regretting why I didn't think of Emart. And hotteok, nice recommendation!

I love the items you mentioned, I am going to have to go to my Korean Supermarket (H Mart) near me in Vancouver, Canada, to see if we carry some of those things, I know I have seen similar items, but our Ramyeon section is massive, so no shortage there, though I love a few, so it has been hard to stray away from them. But I love the massive selection that can be found in some of the H Marts, just the problem is the best one is almost an hour from my house. But they have soy-marinated crabs. Soooo good.

I have regular visit to Korea because of my job requirement so I have many visits to eMART. I ended buying so many things from eMART to bring back to my country. One on the list is Luncheon meat. And another good suggestion is varieties of nuts, eMART has many good varieties of nuts selection which come in big packaging but cheap. Ahh...my luncheon meat is running low stock now..hope to visit Korea soon. And lastly, you may want to consider to buy their recycling bag as your grocery/souvenir bag. Just a thought..

When we were visiting Korea, we went to Lotte mart. We bought a bunch of green tea mix with roasted rice ( when we were on the plan and in our hotel they served us that), we loved it so much that we went and bought a bunch of it. and some corn tea too, it’s good but the green tea and roasted rice are better. We bought a lot of korean sliced ginseng because my husband love it. We also bought some ready to eat chicken soup and some squid chips ( it was really really good). Next time I visit, i will get the stuffs that you recommended in this videos.
