What I heard is that when she showed up for this recording she was jet lagged and had a cold and didn't even want to try, the founder of PMJ (pianist Scott Bradlee) suggested they just try one take and then try it again at a later date if it didn't work. This is that one take...perfection.

Ya she hits different. PMJ spins modern songs back into 20's -60's styles and they use many different vocalists...but...Haley is the Queen. Her vocal tool kit is untouchable. If she were born 80 years ago we would still be talking about her legacy. An amazing anachronism.

My visit to you channel, but whenever I see a reaction to Haley and Creep I have to check it out. I’d like you to check out a young band from Ireland called Dea Matrona. They are a young classic rock band whose covers of Cream’s Crossroads, Van Morrison GLORIA, Peter Green’s Oh Well, Rory Gallagher’s Cradle Rock, Simon and Garfunkel Homeward Bound, CSN Helplessly Hoping as well as others are terrific. Originals So Damn Dangerous, Glory Glory (I Am Free) Stamp on It (live session is my fave version) and latest single Red Button (audio only) are my recommendations.
