Hopefully the people who run the production at these E3 shows will learn how to operate audio someday. Every showcase at this (and past years) E3's has had embarrassing audio issues. Constant backstage talking, on stage mic issues.... you'd think a tech conference would have a handle on things like this. Anyways, thanks for all the game coverage despite the ineptitude. :) ..... I love how Ashley always sits like "yea no big deal... just chilling here...super cool" She and Shannon really have chemistry. The hands touching at 27:03 so natural and friendly. I admit that for some seconds i ship it. I'm so happy with this cast. I became a big fan of ashley after the first game and when they revel that Laura Bailey was in the part 2 i instally freaked out. And now Shannon,that plays "elsie" a character that I really like in westworld. I'm so excited.

THIS GAME IS LITERALLY THE BEST THING COMING FOR PLAYSTATION 🙏🏻 I have a strong feeling it comes out late 2019 like summer maybe ! But so many cool things I mean JOAL is somewhere out there, the game is so cool but it does look really challenging and hard ! Can’t wait for this

the trailer takes place 4 years later from the end of TLOU 1. This means this is somehow prior to the actual game, in terms of timeline. If you remember, the game takes place 5 years later, as per Neil Druckmann... Joel is actually mentioned in the trailer just because this is all before the actual game timeline.

I'm so happy that they answered all my questions (will the tech/gameplay in the demo really be in the full game?) and worries (will the story with cult and all not spin out of the grounded, realistic space the first game inhabited with such grace?). Naughty Dog know how their fans feel, what we care about and how to give us more than we'd ever believe we could ask for.

Honestly, just from a logical standpoint, it makes senses that Ellie is the main character this game. Joel was already middle-aged in 2010 when the apocalypse started, then 20 years passed, and in the first game he's been attacked, beaten, and stabbed through the gut. Then five more years passed, and now its TLOU2. Like, is he really fit to be a protagonist, fighting, killing, running? It seems from the dialogue in the trailer, that he oversees patrol groups and trains the young recruits instead of actually going on missions himself. I'm sure he could still hold his own in a fight, but the entire game? I don't think so. From a narrative standpoint, I don't think it makes sense either. His arc was finished in the first game. After Sarah died, he he stopped being able to love, to care about anyone. He parted with his brother, and obviously his friendship with Bill didn't go great. For 20 years he drank, killed Infected and Henchmen, and didn't really connect with anyone but Tess, and even that wasn't the best relationship. He refused to let himself care about Ellie, but over the course of the first game she grows on him, and it finally ends with him choosing her life over possibly the human race. Then, he finally goes with her to Jackson, and his story ends. Ellie, on the other hand, still has places for her story to go. She never had a problem connecting to people, they just all either left or died (Her mom, Riley, Sam, etc). Joel didn't leave her, of course, and he brought her to Jackson, to a new community, for her to finally start her life now that her old life (Riley, the fireflies, the cure) is done. She's young, she's starting to form her identity, and she has so, so much to lose. That's fertile ground for an amazing new story that I can't wait to play.

Love how he starts it off with "we've learned our lesson", shows us they're forever expanding on their past experiences, even with game mechanics, animations etc. Truly shows why they're one of the most respected video game studios.

Bit confused by the complete and utter lack of anything to do with the virus and Joel in the main video they showed. Basically the core of the first game (Dynamic Duo and Infection) were MIA. Don't get me wrong it looks amazing but would've preferred less dancing and more Joel/Clickers instead in some of that time.
