I just got the same steering last week for and did not realize it was going to block part of my view on the gauge cluster. I then purchased an eccentric hub adapter that offset it 12mm to give me better visibility of the cluster. The downside is that the stalks are further now as well.

Does the Us have any restrictions in terms of safety requirements? Im pretty lucky that my mx-5 does not have any aerbags out the factory but if you want to change it on newer cars its not possible. "Legally" not possible here in Germany.

How about safety and legal things, u have no airbag now isnt it? Is that legal to drive a car with no airbag? And how about, better not to of coufse but, how about crash or smth, u dive with head into steering wheel?
