I'm in a similar situation. I ordered a wiring harness from Wiring Specialties for my 1JZ/ZF setup and specified a 1JZ starter. However, I'm now using a 2JZ open face starter. Did you have to replace the starter plug? When I googled it, I found that the 1JZ and 2JZ starter plugs are supposed to be the same.

There are 2 different styles of starters. When I ordered mine i put in the comments “mine is a 2JZ STARTER. It is a black connector with a single copper pin” not sure if 1jz or 2jz are specifically different or if different years are different but I do believe if you give them a call or email they will send you a new connector and all you have to do is pop yours off and pop the new connector on. From my experience they have great customer support.

The metal mounts for engine and gearbox i got from xcessive manufacturing. They make jz to e36 brackets for both the engine and the gearbox. For bushings I used condor speedshop for the engine and i used the xcessive manufacturing ones that were an add on for the gearbox. Let me know if you have any other questions.
