HI!!! YOU ARE MY HERO TODAY!!! I watched this video before i went to the junkyard today to pull a throttle body for my 2000 E39 528i. guess what happened? IT WAS EXACTLY TO THE LETTER HOW YOU SHOWED US!!! ALL THE TOOLS YOU SAID WERE SPOT ON, TOO!!! i cannot thank you enough for taking and making time to share your knowledge. it goes without saying that hindsight is 20/20 but sharing said hindsight saves people like me a lot of time guessing or grabbing the wrong socket... etc. like i said, YOU ARE 100% MY HERO TODAY!!! do you feel that rush of wind under your hero cape as you fly around? if not, you will!!! have a really great day-night-weekend-week-month and all of the above. YOU ROCK!!! i will give an update when i have installed the junkyard throttle body.

My EML light will randomly come on and my car won’t go over 2k rpm when I’m driving, mainly when I let off the pedal to slow down in town, and Only time it happens on the interstate is when I’m coming up on traffic. Most of the time it’s not a problem bc I can turn the car off and on and It goes back to normal, but at night it turns off my lights for a second too.. Could you give any advice?

That sounds like a dirty throttle body. Follow the video and take it out and clean it with throttle body cleaner. Good luck!

So I am planning on replacing my throttle body that is going bad in my e46 330i. After replacing, all I have to do is wait 12 hours and all the codes are clear? Do I need to disconnect my battery during the 12 hours?

I didn't disconnect the battery in my case, but I'd replace it and clear the codes and see what happens first, then if the the symptoms are still there I'd leave it overnight ( with the battery connected) then start it in the AM and you should be solid. Let me knowhow it turns out. Thanks Ryan
