I have the Doug version, and I can confirm that this platform out performed my expectations. I have very very expensive and modified 1:10 crawlers that simply can't measure up the the performance of this thing (at scale, of course) and I hope it keeps getting all the aftermarket support I think it deserves. As a Tamiya fan as well, I like the goofy scale discrepancies. It makes the small scale easier to digest in my eyes, makes these things kind of .... Cute? I love it
@AMPROEngineering
@AMPROEngineering Жыл бұрын
This is a good way to look at it. The goofy looks not only make it more palatable to a lot of people but also make it more useful. If it had the correct size tires, it wouldn't be able to do anything.

The front end looks so much better now. And I have to agree that those wheel arches are ridiculous. Been curious of getting a 1/24 scale crawler, so far only had the 1/16 WPL's

4:57 OMG! I have been looking for these everywhere, nobody had a clue about the washers. I tried them everywhere and the only logical is exactly there. Glad somebody agreed with me. People sayin they must be shims for the diffs? Dude, they are inside the same bag as the o-rings! So, must be for the shocks!!!
@unloveableandre
@unloveableandre 4 ай бұрын
I sent an email to FMS support and they confirmed we were both right. That's where the washers should go. "Hi friend, We confirmed with the technician that it can be used, and its function is to tighten it to prevent oil leakage."

I'm one of the few that likes the body being a bit exaggerated. I've had mine since May 12th and have been absolutely enjoying it. Some shock oil and better tires does wonders,add some brass and overdrive portal gears and it's VERY capable. None the less I put my order in for the bumpers and roof rack lights. Awesome stuff!
@AMPROEngineering
@AMPROEngineering Жыл бұрын
More weight and better tires for sure. I think the big wheel arches are the main reason it is so usable. I mean if it was this size with the correct arches and scale size tires? Come on, it would be totally useless.

I just got the treal brass upper and lower links, steering links, and portal covers. All amazing quality. Parts are starting to trickle out. Im enjoying working with the slightly larger hardware! I used adjustable metal links from fms before and was able to adjust link ends to push the wheels out from center. It didn't take much to get it looking less goofy. Awesome content! New sub here

yeah they use this chassis on a number of different trucks, on all of them there is wheel base differentials but it's probably just because it's cheaper to move the different body designs around the chassis, rather than re designing a new chassis for each body to keep it more "scale" looking, i think they did the best they could with the wheelbase they have. i love this truck so much, i'm going to get annother one and then turn it into a max smasher monster truck
