EA App - How to Locate/Move Already Installed Games

1. Copy/move application to desired install location (ensure you have twice the file size available on harddrive as EA App will allocate space again.
2. Enter settings within EA App (click profile icon) - downloads - change install pathway to exact location of the game.
3. Download game and ensure file pathway is correct.
4. EA App will show preparing without a download rate, install times will vary but if you see this it's working.
Any questions please ask, if the launcher changes this method may not work.

because they are a victim of their own success they used to be a great company hence the size of company they are today. however they have gotten to a sizew where anything launched at scale is inevitably buggy and basically next to useless. not too mention the amount they bow down to the current woke culture. anything remotely offensive that gets reported results in an insta ban. just adding to the snowflake problem in the world. Awful company that should be dissolved but as a result of their size they will just continue to get bigger. We need a revolution with this aswell as with governments around the world in general

Read up on Beta testing. Beta is very prone to being buggy and crashes. So, when they announced they were done "testing" and introduced their new crap app the rest of us, their testing wasn't over. We are now the guinea pigs in testing, testing their crap app. Their main app froze last week on me. I had to use task manager to shut it down which corrupted my registry. I had to spend $185 to get my laptop fixed. I lost over 2000 hrs. of all my save games, homes and sims I created and still can't use the game, unless I want to play from scratch...no thanks! Not only that the app is so buggy i'm ready to rip my hair out than continue trying to get it up and running again where I was at. And, no one on the forums responds to anything I post. I keep hearing "Class Action Lawsuit" running through my head....hmmmmm.

I didn't know it was possible to make a worse launcher app than Origin but EA has shattered my extremely low expectations. Thanks for the video. I was pretty sure I had done it right but I've been setting up a new PC and have so much to get done that I decided to look it up and possibly save myself more frustration and your video helped with that. 👍

This saved me hours and hours of downloading. Thank you! I tested a modified version of these instructions to see if there is now a simpler way of doing this Here's what I found that works for me and saves a few steps by not having to change download locations, as long as you use the default settings there Copy game backup folder (Battlefield 2042) to default install location C:\Program Files\EA Games In the EA app, click download for that game Verify the location of the download path matches the path of your copied your game backup folder It should look like this... C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2042 (if your EA App download settings are at set at default you won't have to change anything) The "download" will begin and instead of actually download the files it will verify all the files

I'm still amazed that in the year 2023, steam, an app from 2003 is the ONLY game launcher that can natively change the location of your games, hassle free.

Funnily enough the old launcher had the option to move the games from one drive to another. This new launcher had that option removed... one step forward, 10 steps backs. Somehow EA always manages to go backwards... Thanks for the info though, saved me at least 2-3 full days of downloading. My Internet download speeds are s**t.

Dude, Thank you. I just got jedi survivor and it took to much time to download then when i went to play it this morning, it neededd a small update that was just barely too big for the drive and yeah i think you get the rest. Hello hello. I just moved all my games to another hard drive and I was freaking out because I thought it would detect all the games automatically since they are all already installed and all. After a LONG time of freaking out and trying everything I found Your video man...and I gotta say.... YOU ARE A LEGEND. It worked for all games on EA APP and similar method also works on Epic Games. Thank you for making this video, I about had a shit fit over this stupid fucking EA APP. How hard would it be to have a "relink game files" option like every other launcher on the planet. I swear The shit I use to talk about 10 years ago having too many game launchers and having to deal with the BS they bring is here, we are living in it. when i select to folder where all the files are aka a separate TF2 folder it makes a new titanfall 2 folder and installs in that folder instead of detecting the files

Holy shit, thanks mate! I Factory reset my pc and disconnected my drive where origin and the games included were before the reset. I had to install this EA launcher bs and I almost broke my monitor as my internet sucks horse dick. Thank you again, this worked wonders :)
