We purchased the pro model after watching your demo. After paying a lot to have a professional installer do the first round, we decided to give it a try in our basement. We installed one floor without the tools, and now, look forward to installing the remainder with this little wonder. What a difference it will make, thanks for the review.

Great explanation. I do have the same cutter. I have to look into to adjust the guillotine type the blade for better easy cut

How often must the blade be changed ? How much is a new blade ? Can they be sharpened ? If I get the right answers I may just buy one ASAP :)

It depends on the cutting materials and how often the cutter has been used. The blade can be sharpened by the honing stone which is part of the BONUS kit. The price of the blade is between USD $29 and $33.

Good presentation. Thanks but please use some 12mm laminate in your tests. Is the 9" really good for 12mm Laminate? My guess it will not be a neat cut so people laying 12mm laminate should seek a higher end cutter.

You can't make rip cuts on a guillotine style cutter like this one. If you want to rip a board length wise, your going to have to use a table saw, skill saw..... something else like that.

Will the 9 inch model for do it yourself homeowners cut laminate that has the backing already attached to the laminate?????

YES As long as it does not exceed 15mm

Hi Michael, thank you for purchasing an EAB Exchange-A-Blade product, we really appreciate your business! It depends on the backing material and the total thickness of the laminate plus backing. If the backing is vinyl, foam or rubber type material and the total thickness is 12 mm or 1/2” the 9" cutter will do the job. For 15 mm or 5/8” I would recommend our 13" model. You can check out our 13" Industrial laminate floor cutter (item # 2100007) without bonus kit and our 13" laminate floor cutter (item #2100017) with bonus kit. We have also started selling a home owner version of the 13" laminate floor cutter (item #2100010) with bonus kit, which is sold exclusively in the states only. The laminate I intend to buy is 9.37" wide, will the home owner one be OK or should I get the professional one?

If you are buying anything wider than that, then it is definitely in your best interest to purchase either a narrower laminate or you can check out our 13" Industrial laminate floor cutter (item # 2100007) without bonus kit and our 13" laminate floor cutter (item #2100017) with bonus kit. We have also started selling a home owner version of the 13" laminate floor cutter (item #2100010) with bonus kit, which is sold exclusively in the states only.
