Yep, exactly this. FUT is still too similar to previous FIFA’s, and EA push the competitive side with the game modes so much they forget a lot of people want to play FUT casually. That’s why it was so big back in FIFA 15/16 etc.

This is the worst fifa of all time and that’s genuinely saying a lot considering how bad they’ve been in the past few years

@@Cyberaser This is a main issue but the cunts at EA are never fixing this. Because if attacking AI isn't completely braindead, then they would have less people buying OP cards. It's not enough that Mbappe is a glitch fest, has rebound balls fall to him, is faster, better dribbler and finisher than others, you also need to ensure his attacking AI is much better while players like Kimmich, Kroos and Modric who are the best off the ball players on the planet stay like magnets next to the guy whose "marking" them unless you spam R1 + L1 for everything.

I agree. I was div 3/2 in FIFA 21 but the gameplay and mechanics of this version go against all the playstyles and abilities I've used for years. Not being able to build up through the middle because of the 71 depth nonsense is game breaking and terrible. I started playing through rivals and can't stand it stopped in Div 7 it's just sweaty 71 depth cut back goals even in the lower divisions.

I’ve always manually defended in fifa, but now it’s so much harder. I usually end up pulling my players out of position because the standard tackle makes your player glide 5 yards. The animations in this game are absolutely wild.

I got extremely burnt out from FIFA after last years game but wanted to give FC 24 a chance. Played it for a week, and I haven't touched it since. The gameplay is the worst it has ever been. Menus are boring. I'm officially checked out completely.

One thing that isn't getting enough attention imo is that they literally removed 3 and 5 at the back formations from competitive play because they deemed them too strong for the pro scene, but they have no issues with 99.9% of their playerbase having to deal with them. Just think about how ridiculous that is from a design perspective.

@cokeysmurf2436 I'm a consistent R1/Elite Div player, actually and have been since WL was even concieved, lol. Also, I never complained about not being able to beat it when i do encounter it. My argument is purely from a game design perspective that allowing something to be used in one context and not the other when they themselves declared it's problematic seems insane to me.

I think the main problem is that every single reward in this game is time gated. I miss just being able to play rivals all day and get packs and coins every 10 games. Fifa used to directly correlate game time with the growth of your club. Now the growth of your club is exclusively locked behind pack luck and money spent. Now it doesn't matter how much time you put into the game. If your pack luck isn't good, your team just wont get any better. I actually found myself not playing last weekend league because I have yet to pack anything good. I'm a perfect example of a player experiencing burn out because my time invested isn't seeing a return.

For me the most frustrating thing is the R1 dribbling. I am a person who is really good at skill moves and use a lot but I just feel they are not even worth using anymore. They are just not as effective as just pressing r1 and r2 and it really pains me

My biggest issue with this game is what Nick talked about when he said the gameplay is just so slow. I play against these guys who finish with around 70% possession against me and the only time they sprint is when they are going towards their own goal. They just dribble in circles and keep switching it and it’s like I am just watching them play the game. Its like they dont want the ball to score, they just want it so I cant have it and so I cant score.

It’s not like we want to play like that. My midfield players literally don’t move or are way to up creating a big gap where any pass will get instantly intercepted by my opponent. Add my opponent using high pressure and 71 depth, what do you expect me to do???

Right on the nail! Although the rewards were never crazy the silver lounge was always fun. Liked the fact that everyone can have a chance whether they had “op silvers” or not. Most importantly I could just lean back and relax on it, even if I lost it was probably a thrilling 6-7 game😂

I haven't seen anyone talking about this huge issue with one of the game modes this year. If you play co-op with a friend you will never literally never phase another co-op opponent, it will always be a 2v1. I've played so much co-op this year and me and my friend have never come up against another co-op opponent no matter what matchmaking setting we use. This might not seem like a big issue but it is to people who like playing co-op because it changes the gamemode and gameplay completely and can lead to either the co-op team or the solo team having an advantage depending on the situation and style of play. EA need to fix this issue.

It’s crazy to think that this year the only reason I play is to upgrade my team and open packs. I find myself not actually enjoying the game at all anymore and I just end up playing squad battles while watching games or a show on my computer. It’s just kinda sad when I think about it

Yes , i do that. objectives and sq for rewards and not falling too fat behind. Sometimes 3 and sometimes 7 wins rivals . But it feels like work and i'm not enjoying playing the game.

Sometimes the unhappiness I get from fifa carries over into my real life situations. I’ve had moments where I’ve lashed out at my Mrs and shouted at her, then I snap out of it and realise what I’ve done. It just turns you into a horrible person and brings out the worst in people. I don’t care what anyone says but this game is not fair at all. Momentum and scripting makes it feel like you aren’t good enough, when you’ve been playing the game for years. FIFA is the only game where it makes me violent and stingy and makes me break controllers/desks. Take a break or stop playing altogether. It helped me so much.

I feel it too but then I think and realize my brain thinks what’s happening is real our brain can’t tell what is real and what isn’t so it’s natural it gets overwhelmed when the game glitches in the opponents favor, or when they’re straight up playing like a rat, we feel pissed off for real because our brain thinks it’s us on that field l, but there’s no one switch solution to that If i we’re would just do little things differently to keep you grounded, keeping your self hydrated healthy habbits like eating a salad, reading a book for 10 mins, or working out, especially playing real footy like at a park for some pick up, or even by your self will help the more of things you do the better

The main problem besides being boring is that people spend hours playing a stupid game instead learning, improving or just enjoy real life. You literally are dumbing you down. The amount of hours spent is equivalent of an education at a higher level many times. Fc24 is an online casino.

As you mention the changes in Squad Battles you forgot the reduction to 32 games. The level of difficulty has increased a lot. I place in Elite 2 every week. Can't be on Elite 1 anymore as I used to do in previous editions.

Friendlies is the sweatiest mode. this game feels like a job. you play you hate it but you have to, and if you dont play you miss out on sbc's players etc. But to make a game this unplayable is crazy.

This video nails all the things we as a Fifa community want. I’ve been a fifa addicted for years. I work. A 9-5 and have children and I used to enjoy coming home after a long day at work and playing some ultimate team to relax, nowadays the last few years I still love the game because I love football so much but I have to force myself to play the game because of how sweaty it is. I don’t want to run down the bi line but I have to. I don’t wanna play your stupid cups in friendlys we’re it’s sweatier than fut champs but I feel I have to. I don’t wanna play rivals all week to a fucking Tifo. I wanna play with fun cards but I can’t I have to play meta or you just can’t win. Fuck this game!!

It's deeper than just gameplay, not only are we matched against similar opponents, if you legit outplay your opponent the momentum kicks in and awards stupid goals to the other opponents. Also duplicates are insane this year they're trying to get me to spend points and rewards are trash. I played champs to pack nothing its not even worth me playing

I’m glad you speak out about this and hope something gets done. Unfortunately I don’t think it will, there are too many rats who don’t care about football and are addicted to rewards which is what EA want. Addiction. The amount of people I played who score 3/4 40 yard finesse shots with salah/son is ridiculous it’s so boring to try and defend it when they just wiggle around for 5 mins waiting for a chance. It’s just not enjoyable for people who actually want to play football. Div 3 this season is so sweaty, a little bit of delay and you can’t do anything their players are glued to you as if they can see you move before you do it’s horrific. I’ve quick sold my whole team and deleted the game it’s just not worth playing if it’s not fun. The only people who find this game fun are addicted to rewards, or get gratification from rewards over good gameplay.

a huge issue is the progression in this game man, the jump from tier a players to s tier players is huge. Going from a bonmati to someone like marchisio or ramires is a 500k-600k coin jump its just so insane how many coins it takes to upgrade a single player

Last year I had a bundesliga team, and every single player was untradeable so I didn't have many coins. And all the players that were worth while to buy that would improve my team were 500k-1m and everyother player was like 17k and trash. I didn't change my team for 2 months because of this

S tier players costing millions of coins in comparison to A tier players has been a thing for years, so my point is that this is not just an EA FC issue, it was an issue in previous FIFAs too.

Great video. Unfortunately as long as people keep buying the game EA wont ever have a reason to change. We been saying the same things since like FIFA 16. At some point the consumers gotta wake up. And i even add myself into that cycle coz i love football so ive been buying FIFA since FIFA 2002. But eventually after FIFA 22 i had to call quits coz i wasnt getting enjoyment out of it. Not a content creator and not a pro player so figured why am i outchea stressing myself with the endless grind when i can just enjoy at my own pace and enjoy other games so this year only bought Dead Space Remake, RE4 Remake, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Spiderman 2, Baldur's Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2. All dope games rhat i think gave me way more than FC24 would've given me. So hopefully more people go out and support the studios that are still dropping dope games and not tryna just create an endless cycle thats built for you to grind and spend money more than just naturally progressing and enjoying. Understandable that content creators wont drop the game content is there to be made but hopefully EA take an actual hit eventually to where they sit back down and go back to the drawing board to give us the classic FIFA of the early 2000s that we fell in love with orior to the emphasis becoming on Ultimate Team. Starting with the Next gen I have had PS5 for 2 years no and looking forward to playing the games on next gen but it hasn’t been anything close to what I was expecting it’s all been a massive fail the gameplay is horrific and packs an odds r just dropping like crazy and market is completed destroyed what’s the point in having a prestige player if he’s gonna be cheap doesn’t feel good . Honestly a thing that is really tough this year is the player difficulty change during games so called Momentum I think it got recently exposed that bad players receive greater pack luck or easier opponents so they could be brought back to playing It’s frustrating if your better than the other guy but 0-3 down cuz everything goes his way Every tackle you do is unsuccessful and gives your opponent the ball back till he manages to score is ridiculous Pros will always be the only ones getting 20-0 but even they lose against ppl worse than them due to their R9 not being able to sprint pass or shoot

My team is 85 rated, when I face teams with legends and such the game flows fast and snappy. But when I play teams 80-85 rated the game slows down dramatically, players turn like trucks, can't tackle, can't pass can't run, it's garbage. How's this a competitive game?

@@maxwell_lb7120 i think ive never seen ai act so bad as this year. the player difficulty option can be removed though there is a switch for that which helps but every time i push up and have the ball my team never pushes with me. lol and yes the AI automatically changes the pace of your players, passes suck when I play higher rated teams but thats always kinda been a thing its just more apparent in this year's release.

I intentionally stopped playing since FIFA22 because of this ‘momentum’ which is just clearly a way to fix/script the result of the game. The final straw for me was winning 18/20 games consecutively to make it to division 1, then immediately losing the next 17 games to get back to back relegations. The wins felt like my team were prime Barcelona, literally everything went my way then in the losses I couldn’t even make basic passes without getting intercepted by opponents who seemed to be playing on double super speed and had the most clinical finishing no matter who’s shooting and from where. The game is nonsense, it just manipulates the result to keep people who can’t compete involved. It takes satisfaction away from winning and adds fury to every defeat because you feel cheated.

100% agreed with all of this! We need to have a better balance between competitive and just casual FIFA. It's so stupid that all online modes except Draft, where you have to pay to play, and FUT Champs Play-Offs, which you can only do 1 time, are the only modes that has not SBMM. They atleast need to get rid of it in Friendlies. The name says it already. It should not be competitive. Only Rivals and Champs should be. Shame they have still not have a tournament game mode like in FIFA 16 and older. We need that back so people atleast can try different teams...

The thing I hate the most about the game is the broken playstyles. Finesse + is literally the only way to score on this game. The 71 depth counter attacking pressing football is also just disgusting. Everyone literally plays the exact same with cutbacks, finesse shots, pressing etc. everytime I win the ball I switch it a million times and just run with my fullbacks because that’s all you can do. Completely agree with the comments talking about the casual experience. I've played Ultimate Team since Fifa 09 and for me the highlight was always making fun, non-meta squads. And they were completely viable. Somewhere along the way it's just not possible anymore, the gameplay experience with these calibre of squads now is dreadful.

I think the problem with the game modes is not necessarily that it is mostly skill based match making but that it is mostly capped. Like in friendlies the fact you only have 4 games per day is making people sweat the hell out of it. If it was unlimited and maybe also golden goal people would just go into the mode and have fun even after finishing the objectives.

An easy fix for EA would be to make Draft free since it doesn't use SBMM and make the rewards untradeable. That would be the closest we would get to old tourney modes and people could test out a lot of different cards. Would take EA literally 5 minutes to change that code. Make it happen EA!

Thanks for coming out and saying it. I can never understand how major publishers have such little idea what’s fun for their audience. Skill expression through variation is fun, collecting and keeping cards you like that actually keep some form of value instead of having to sell them every Sunday in fear of another crash is fun. But instead we get constant market crashes, people playing the same squads with the same few rashford leao diaby lineups. And you can’t even blame them because it’s the only way to play and get wins and those are the only meta cards accessible for f2p. Sometimes it feels more fun to just play career mode

I couldn't agree with you more, I have been suffering this early of Fifa and I have also got this insane pack luck this year. Doesn't matter TOO much with packluck tbh although I am grateful for that. What keeps me going because of my love of FIFA is simply the love of the game, very stubbornly like I think many of us. When I play I TRY to just focus on my gameplay I've had the recent fifas, but obviously when it doesn't work out and I see my player's free on the wing, OF COURSE I WILL PASS THERE. I mean what can we do?? What I can do to the best of my abilities is just that, play my game the way I play it, not the way EAFC wants me to play it, and in worst case sure I'm not going to let go of my winger completely clean and I can score a goal you know. ?

I agree with all of this. I have skipped more WL already this year than all of FIFA 23 up until May. Packs are super watered down even if there are lots of free ones. They need to Reward Manual tackles more by almost always keeping the ball, especially by the players that have the right play styles. Tune down A.I interceptions, especially by attackers, especially in your own half. This alone would make the game so much more fun immediately.

What makes wl special was the reds. With that gone, it's literally just a sweaty game mode with just div rival rewards / squad battle rewards. It's not worth the stress to play it and waste your time to get dead rewards. Unless you're a pro player who goes 20-0 every weekend, I can strongly say that Fut Champs is not enjoyable or worth it.

I loved the gameplay (Especially passing) the first couple of days it was refreshing and then the gameplay got heavier and heavier. I've started playing more and more Clubs with friends and tried the "Any" position it's the exact gameplay as the beginning with fast build up and you can pass through the small gaps in the middle and actually develop an attack which is what gave me believe in the beginning of EA FC 24's gameplay this could be the year with decent mechanics. My guess is AI mechanics aren't really updated in clubs unless it's major exploits. It just amazes me how Clubs has better gameplay than UT. Try it for yourself if you wanna "feel" the fast paced gameplay again.

I’ve been playing fifa since the 2002 World Cup game and it’s always been my favourite franchise and since it’s inclusion ultimate team in particular. It was always such a fun game mode to play and like you said if you were good going forward you always had a good chance to win. The game this year is nothing like that. It honestly feels like you can’t play the way you want too. You have to use meta/broken tactics, formations, players etc or you don’t have a chance. It’s not fun for everybody if you can’t play the way you would like and not have a chance in hell of winning 😢

71 is in my opinion the biggest issue with the game, and the number one thing I would nerf and with that said I promise that it cant just be 71 depth. I also refuse to player lock every single person in order to manually get someone with 90+ positioning and high atk work rates to move into space.

In typical EA fashion they have gone backwards and removed swaps from the game. Last year they started experimenting with putting the swaps packs in the season menu, and when EA24 launched they said officially there is no more swaps. It’s just the seasons now. Unbelievably shit game

Happy to hear this! I left FIFA 23 since February, and I did not buy EA FC. I hate the META and people abusing of it, exploiting glitches and mechanics just to score. Handicap exists, the kickoff glitch is proof of it. For me it is about JOGA BONITO but that is not possible anymore. Essentially, it should be about the possibility to create teams with your favorite players from real life. But then EA doesn't release good cards for many players. It is usually a very poor and disrespectful selection. Sadly, FUT is only driven by money.

EA needs to add a tournament mode like they had in past FIFAs. No entry fee, play as many times as you want, no squad restriction, no sbmm (or not very strict). 4 wins to win the whole tournament and you get packs, player picks, etc. I would play the hell out of this.

I was elite last year and coming to this year and being stuck in div 4 is crazy. Tactics and AI is way too controlling in a game. For me, the one saving grace of this EAFC is evolutions. They haven't all been amazing value for coins/time, but theres at least a fun aspect where you can take a non-meta player, someone from your favourite team, etc, and have some fun upgrading and using them. The main problems with evos is doing those stupid Evo lounge SBMM friendlies, and having to play rivals, which is exactly what you're saying.

If I didn't love the sport as much as i do i wouldnt play this game. It feels like you force yourself to play even through horrible gameplay and the constant DDA. The fact I went to pro clubs as well so early into the year already says a lot about how UT is. W video nick. Hope we can get a change tho.

I’ve always felt that EA want people to sweat and lose loads of games, because a lot of the time when you’re losing you blame your team look for improvements and spend more money

It's the fricking DDA, the 71 depth and the WORST pack luck of all FIFA... i didn't pack a single promo card from day one, except the 84 rttk fron Feyenoord from the yesterday's Sbc. Glad in two days MW3 will drop.

The game modes thing is an enormous problem, starting with Rivals, imagine playing a game where you get into a division/bracket where you can't get demoted, absolutely insane 🙃 Champs qualifying, great, a mix of opponents is nice and you get decent tradeable rewards, Friendlies, remember when they used to put objectives in friendlies and people would play golden goal to complete them, I reckon they added SBMM to somewhat counter that and now for whatever reason they've completely removed player objectives from friendlies and they're only SB, Rivals or Champs only, make it make sense, and now in the last year or so they added a game limit, imagine paying £90 for a game and then being told "nah that's enough for today, you can't play anymore" 🤦 and finally draft, my theory on draft is that it was made to replace online tournaments, online tournaments was brilliant and made making coins easy and fast and I don't think EA liked that because you could exploit it to sell coins, very hard to do that with draft now because of the required buy in, the game is in such a terrible state but I'd honestly still grind it if we had something like online tournaments with rotating squad requirements and untradable rewards, sad times

Im a die hard futbol fan and player, I don’t buy FIFA every year I usually buy it every 3 years and play pretty intensely for the year where everyone else is playing, my last time buying the game was FIFA 21 and the gameplay was so natural, one two buildups, long balls,crossing, through balls… this year I tried a 4-3-3 (CAM variation) which is what I play in every FIFA and I tried building through the middle and like he said it’s literally impossible, I can’t even play the game because I will literally lose 10 games straight to guys who know the meta and just keep running down my wing and scoring on corner kicks. What a garbage gameplay

They need to utilise the pro clubs side of the game more. Needs polish but its easily the best casual mode and could also easily be made into the best competitive mode too. You could merge some aspects of ultimate team, for the AI bots on your team and keep the create your own player and level them up, customise them, customise your club, stadium etc. Involves your friends, or you can go solo. It would be great

They need to add co-op champs and make it so you can build a co-op team. You and your co-op teammate basically share a club and when you get rewards it goes to the shared club.

Cutbacks and the pressure tactics is everybody’s play style back in day on Fifa 12/13/14 everybody had cool different teams and played many different styles

i agree with you. I love the new evos, i literally play like 5 diffrent teams atm because i have tons of diffrent variety cards in my club... only way for me to enjoy this game rn. The playerbase is just cancer

Played someone who couldn't maintain possesion or link more than 2 passes together. Somehow all my shots were hitting the post or going wide left/right. It was the most frustrating win ever.

The only thing that bothers me about this year is that the manual defense is all over the place, when you try to press with your defender they pull back make a circle and cuts in..thus making a space, and surely I hate AI defenders, every stupid opponent that I faced never switched to back defender they making AI doing everything, on the contrary when I face a pro player I can play and win perfectly
