I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks (with the help of my Financial Advisor of course) and made about 246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded with her again and now I'm rounding up close to a million.

My (very poor, but intelligent) mother had a few, but consistent requirements: 1. Stand up straight (good posture) 2. Deep profound love, not just for reading, but for the expressions of a great and growing vocabulary. She loved both reading AND the power of words. 3. To speak clearly, precisely and politely - while looking the person (or audience) in the eye. I was often chosen for jobs over people who had college degrees. I was simply good at sales....i.e. selling myself. I must also add, caring about other people and a profound love for new experiences, culture & point of view brings great dividends. I am more interested in expanding my view than getting my own way. Lastly, I am impeccably moral. People can feel this energy in me, and trust me because of it. This also opens doors! I am a positive, happy person. Just SMILE more often, and see how much more life smiles back!!

Wendy Robert: I think we must be sisters: your mom sounds just like my mom. Integrity was number one with my mom: never, ever lie. She never lied to us. She would say, "I am not discussing that with you right now." But she never lied. Stealing was an atrocity to my mother. She marched me back into a grocery store when I was four and made me go to the manager and give back the candy bar I took. I can still see that like it was yesterday. She would crack your head if you ever made a racist remark (my brother tried it once, and only once). She was the most generous person I knew and the smartest woman I've ever known and she only had an eighth grade education because she had to go to work to help the family.

@@jamesneil2486 I used to not believe in God. But after studying biology and chemistry I doubted how all this could have happened by accident. I takes much intelligence to understand the cell and dna molecule. We are just discovering things that were already here. Also everything is made from atoms and we can't destroy or create and are basically eternal. God made the atoms then put them together intelligently to make all we see. He also made our brains and gave us freewill and intelligence to live life. It is wonderful that He is so good and patient with us. Hopefully you will realize these things as you go through life and God will be patient with you on your journey because He loves you so much.

My adoptive parents were very old school. They adopted me, taking on the risk and financial responsibility of a 4th child, before I was 1. That after all my older brothers were teenagers and they might have seen an end in sight. I got lucky. They were loving and awesome parents, but they never taught me anything practical, mostly bought me video games and told me to go play. What I learned subconsciously watching my parents included a strong work ethic from my dad who worked 12 hours a day 6 days a week as a professional electrician (in his later years), making enough to hold the family up for 40 years. From my mother, I learned compassion and empathy, what it is to keep a home going and how to effectively entertain a house full of kids, as she worked as a babysitter for a while. From their relationship, I learned what a healthy relationship with mutual respect looks like. A lot of kids don't get that opportunity

My parent taught me from an early age to be nicer and more sociable, I was well liked by the teachers and my peer's parents too. But for some reason I was despised by my peers. I was bullied a few years back, and now I've turned them into friends, after I stood up to them. One of them recently came up to me and said that they bullied me because I made no effort to fit in. I would not put up with their B.S and that's what caused them to bully me further. They've come a long way and have matured now, stopped with their bullying. My parents taught me to be nice but not to tolerate humiliation. No one will respect you if you don't respect yourself. This has helped me tremendously, but you might end up VERY lonely as a result. People will typically see you as a threat instead of rivals once you start to out-perform them. But you still have to take the RISK.

My parents taught me two lessons that are connected. Never wrap your emotions up with your money and learn when to fight, compromise, or walk away. My parents were well off. Not super rich but were well off enough that I grew up in an affluent neighborhood. There money was in real estate. They owned a number of rental properties that brought in quite a bit of passive income. However, my mother continued to work as a school teacher because she loved education. When I was a teenager, all hell broke loose. Just before I turned 14 started a near 7 year long divorce where neither of them refused to budge on ownership of these properties. All but two of these properties were finally liquidated in short sales, to include the house we grew up in. And they ended up each living in the condos that remained. Through their actions, I learned that it is better to genially work with someone, rather than lose it all. And never let your emotions control your decisions with money.

Money is Energy. It is meant to flow; not stay solid. Money is paper and ink, or banking and bit coin it is only 0s and 1s. It is the value you place on it. It is your thoughts and feelings about what money is and is for. You can not take it with you to the other side (Heaven). So how do you use money for the better to have a happy growing in Spirit experience on this planet. Money is a tool to help you expand your perception through cognitive and critical thinking to have the best choices to make paradigm shifts to make your life and other peoples lives better. Do what is best for all concerned and that does include you. Not what's in it for me and survival of the fittest. Good Fortune to you and yours.

Never forget the past or your history so you don't make mistakes from the past 8.) Learn from other people's mistakes 9.) Make yourself valuable 10.)work smarter, not harder 11.)money is not evil And some other ones I can't say here.

When you are young live like a pauper. Rent a room & work several jobs - buy properties as rentals - or a duplex - you live in one side & rent out the other side.work really hard while you are young. This can set you up for a great future. Be careful what you buy - don’t buy in scary areas - your renters will cause problems for you that will ruin your investment.

It helped me cope with the ever changing life I have and most of the time I do not think I could have survived coming to a different country all by myself. Today, I still feel alone in a sense that I am 100 percent in charge of paying my living cost. I feel like a rich and a poor person. But is still happy. It's the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil. It's Biblical. Really rich people GIVE, and they open a flow to receive. Greedy people don't and lose it. Don't sneer at poorer people, they don't know any better. I've had both sides of the coin and arrogance and pride are ugly traits. I don't borrow, I don't have any debt at all and I've never had a car etc on finance. I learnt to build money by not wasting money on rubbish trying to keep up with everyone else and buying stuff we don't need. I have a very good life doing this. Yes celebrate, but it doesn't make you a better person.

KingHMB your Patents are right, if you yet don`t have money, graduate and then you have a Chance to get the money for entrepeneurship etc. But it won`t work without capital, Connections and Trust in you. So build your social trust first with a degree. Try to have some Side business with products. This can make you richer. Buy and sell. But focus on your degree first, work few years in big companies, get inside knowledge and capital and then be an entrepeneur one day. Else it probably will Fail like 90% of entrepeneurs do. Those who succeed without all that.. probably at least their parent`s did those things before and gave their money and Connections to help to Start ther business like the jews do... Plan big is good, but do/work/connect bigger, you have to suffer a little first, build yourself up while Learning and most important, do new things, leave your comfort zone! Hope this advice helps. ;)

I didn’t grow up w money. I grew up poor. Mother didn’t get out of poverty until I was grown. She started to go on the road to getting out when she became a nurse and I was 14 or 15. So really nothing taught to me OTHER than: once I was like 11 or 12, I naively said “there’s nothing wrong w being poor” and she nearly bit my head off! She definitely made it known that there WAS something wrong w it, and I never forgot it. I did slip around early 20s when I was on a socialism kick and damn near communism, but I had to learn even more. It wasn’t that I regressed on the lesson of “something wrong w being poor” but I was in a rut of how to deal w and alleviate it for everyone. As a founder of a business, a BIG part of its social purpose (and a big part of my life) was that I was hell bent on getting ppl out of poverty, not to help them cope w it. However, I realized that even though I want to see everyone eat, it’s not my job (nor my company’s) to fix everyone’s plate. So the lesson she taught me was: there IS something wrong w being poor.

My mom and grandmother passed away 3 months apart and Grandma really raised me as her son but Mom birth me in Life so now I’m just pushing to follow through on things we discussed in their lifetime. It’s turning out pretty well in my point of view. For the both of us!

10:24 The saying from the bible is NOT, "Money is the root of all evil" ... It IS, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." which is a perfectly true statement. That is one of the most misunderstood and misquoted verses in the bible. The saying refers to the "LOVE of money". There is nothing inherently wrong with wealth and success. They are only as good or bad as a person does with their wealth and success. Obsession with money and selfishness can manifest themselves into many kinds of sins.

True; that's why it states in the video that "money is a tool, nothing more and nothing less". I translate that as a warning to not obsess over it. The evil plays a part when greed sets in. Greedy people really have no value when it all boils down.

As long as you know the word of God is true... that making sense out of nonsense is non-negotiable. The rest is peaceful. Alux is an interesting perspective. However, it is not a Scriptural perspective. We who believe in the word of God know His voice. We can't expect foreigners to Hear Him. The tools from this video are stable in theory. It is up to us to work them thru the truth we know are self-evident. You corrected the statement (scripture) that was the right thing to do...the rest is up to the reader. I hope this finds you smiling having a swell day.

I asked for some built bars yesterday, and my father said no. I said why not? he told me because I can buy it my self. I said but it's food, you can buy it. But my father was trying to teach me something. Do I really need it, or am I just buying it bc I want it? I don't wanna waste my money so the answer to that question is essential. The next lesson was to no rely on other people. I kept on telling him that he is my father, so he is basically obligated to buy it for me, but that is wrong. He doesn't owe me anything technically especially not a snack. It wasn't that he was trying to be mean, he was simply teaching me responsibility. He could easily buy them for me, and would probably be happy to, but he knows that nobody owes anyone anything. He was teaching me to not look to others to do what I can do for myself.

What my parents taught me ... 2 family values: Integrity, Compassion. These serve me in good stead. But, sadly, my parents were children of the great depression. They missed a 3rd family value which I now believe would be just as valuable ... a healthy attitude toward money and wealth. The lack of this proper attitude has caused great suffering.

It was my Grandmother who taught me most of the things I needed to know about money and a few other necessary things. Unfortunately I lost her mentorship when she passed shortly before I turned 18 years old. Small minds talk about people(!), but my parents were a financial mess. Even though they both had better than decent jobs they worried about having things (TVs, used cars, etc.) and throwing parties, barbecues and get togethers. The same faces would show up every time, eat, get drunk and 'Goodbyes' all around when food fatigue finally set in. Only recently have I seen that I have to break the cycle and do better AWAY from them if my family is truly going to climb out of the mundane, mediocre and stagnant practices we've been doing for decades. P.S. - "R I S K."

The 15th point is the best one, my grandfather worked at a cornfield when he was a teenager. Everyday his family of 4 siblings, mother and a father were eating eggs, rice and sweet soy sauce on a daily basis. People who are complaining that their life is rock bottom, that they are living the hardest life compared to other people, they don’t know what they are talking about. Those people are barely scratching the surface of hardship and never really experienced it. My grandpa had to wake up 4.30 AM every morning to jump at the back of a truck that is heading to the same direction to the cornfield that he worked at and coming back at 7pm. With the little money he earned, he’d decided to sacrifice that money for the family’s meal and he’d also manage to put all three of his sibling to school so they could get a proper education. Now our family owns one of the largest wood and lumber company in south east Asia. I was lucky enough and will always be great full of the fact that I was born into a wealthy family with my mum’s family which ran a wood private company and my dad with his family’s business which is a real estate and construction public company in Indonesia. Being born into this family I have rarely faced hardship in my life but, the lesson that I’ve learned from all the people around me is that if one day i have found myself to be in a position of hardship/rock bottom, it is a great position to build my foundation of starting over and that it can’t get any worse than it is.

My parents made me do a lot of routine and mundane chores growing up which I HATED. Getting rich is often very routine and mundane, and it just takes a lot of time. It isn't glamorous as it often starts with doing things like drinking water at restaurants. No one gives a flip about your great problem solving ideas until you prove you can work hard, and take the monotony of starting at the bottom. I started out washing dishes at a restaurant for 5 bucks an hour, and now I'm a multi-millionaire who owns my own 12M dollar real estate company. Hard work had a lot more to do with that than great ideas although it takes those as well, and they came from reading a lot of books. Rich people will out work you, AND they work on their education with the same zeal that they have swept and mopped restaurant floors. 80% work and getting dirty, and 20% brains and education.

I learnt very early in life from my mum that you must not waste your resources. We even celebrated all the birthdays in the year on one day. Later on my grandmother thought me the values of commitment, compassion and goodness to others among many things. Now I have learnt that to be able to help others, you must help yourself first. I.e. put yourself in the (financial) position to assist or support others and have a comfortable life still. A lot more people need to understand these principles. Thanks for this video which I have now shared with 10 people.
