fatcrewz nope their expensive because a certain company owns 95% of the earths diamonds. And they keep most of the diamonds hidden locked up in storage in order to keep the price of the diamonds high . Diamonds are a scam.

Keep in mind, that a huge portion of items that use Swarovski crystal components are not necessarily directly affiliated with Swarovski; through their Create-Your-Style line of crystal components any crafter or designer can make use of and encrust jewelry, clothing and even household items with Swarovski crystal. Interesting fact: at the same Swarovski Design Contest in 2006 where I came in 2nd place in the Amateur category, Kelly DeFries-the Crystal Ninja responsible for the milkshake glass-also won an award for a Swarovski encrusted laptop with a Sea Turtle design (I vaguely recall it winning 3rd place Professional). She has done an amazing job of working truly hard to turn her recognition into an amazing career! (BTW: never turn down the chance to go to a Swarovski after-party. An experience of a lifetime!) One more thing: their gorgeous faceted Swarovski figurines add more to the sparkle by using silver rather than lead, and the famous AB coating (short for Aurora Borealis) that is added to some crystals actually uses gold to get the iridescent and flashy effect.

You forgot one of the best funfacts: Out of the 13 subsidiaries...one of them is called Swarovski gemstones......which does indeed sell diamonds!

I don’t know the background/history of the subsidiary you mention, but I assume they’re “natural” diamonds? I know recently in celebration of their 125th anniversary, they announced their new line of lab created diamonds! Last I read, they had the widest range of colors-and they are vivid, lovely colors

These crystals are beautiful indeed but I bought a few pieces and found that the metals they set the crystals in will not hold up to regular use. You can't get it wet, bathe in it or soak it in cleaning fluid. That's the only reason I won't buy them anymore. Why can't these beautiful crystals be set in sterling silver or stainless steel, to make jewelry that will last?

I'm a 72 yr young great grandmother who tries to sell jewelry I make to make up for a small S.S. check. Anyway, I try to buy Swarvoski crystals n make earrings n bracelets with small ones. I can't afford the larger ones. I love the way they shine!! I thought I had some Beautiful stones until my Swarvoski came in. I was amazed at the quality n shine. Thank you for the video. I'd like to learn more about them. One more thing, the spokeswoman PRONOUNCED the crystals as Swar(u)ski, I believe that's how it was. I always heard the "v" not the "u". Would the spelling be from a foreign country? This would be something nice to pass on. God bless you all.

They aren’t just Glass. They are Leaded Crystal. Do you pay a lot for crystal wine & champagne glasses? Yes, you do. So there’s your answer as to WHY it costs so much. The manufacture of these crystals Is not cheap.
