For about 3 years I raised those in Ohio! The local pet store paid me to do it, during the summer I would take them outside, one at a time, to feast in the garden. My mother liked that part, but not them living in the house. LOL Earl was showing off for the lady. Samson (my male) and Delilah (Yes, just like the bible.) raised 56 little ones that were sold at the pet store. Them Samson got out of his cage and my Siamese (Mr. E) killed him. Sigh... Delilah died of a broken heart after that. (Or at least that's what I said.) They are fun to watch and Jami, they eat 100 times their weight in bugs! Go Earl!
@melapredan6208Ай бұрын
why do you tell so nice story after all with a cruel end? You killed Samson by irresponsibility. Your cat story is another level. Not funny thats horrible and wrong time

Love love love! Lizards are very social, I had a pair who gardened with me. They slept under the porch light, on a laundry line where I hung my gardening gear. Every morning, after greeting them, I went to turn on the hose. By the time I'd settled in a spot, weeding, they'd be right beside me, hanging upside down, hunting the gnats and no see ums I stirred up by weeding. They met my Dad one day, and were so polite he freaked out, and spit gravel, leaving. Good lizards. I'm sure their descendants are still hunting the same gardens.

Hi you two, or in this case four....☺️ Not to worry Jami because I can’t believe that I get so much enjoyment, from watching a couple that live in a complete different country than me, share their coffee’s together, while talking about their little green pets, Earl and Earline and yet I do 😊 and never fret about being judged because in the end, you two will always come out on top! Hope you and the little pair of green high-wire acrobats, that stopped by to visit you, who maybe stopped by because they enjoy watching you sharing your morning coffee together, as much as I do😊 but I hope you all enjoy your Sunday! ☺️💞

Love the names you gave them. My nephew has had two iguanas for a long time now. There used to be an old tv show about this dinosaur family which featured people in these bulky foam-like costumes called Dinosaurs. There were the parents, 3 children and Grandma as the main characters. The baby always did naughty things but got away with it because " I'm the baby!" The parents are Fran and Earl, which of course my nephew had to name these two iguanas. They are both huge. Earl is over 6 feet long and weighs over 30 pounds. Fran is a bit shorter and weighs a delicate 25 pounds. During the day, they roam the house but return to their cage to make 'deposits'. Matthew, my nephew, has had them over 20 years now. By the way, Earl's throat display is called a dewlap. Most reptiles/amphibians have them. Dewlaps are their " hey baby" gesture. Only males have them and make this display.

When I was a kid, whenever we saw a lizard , we would say to him, "lizard, lizard, lizard, show me your pocket book. When he would, we were so excited that he did it when we asked. I'm 73 so that was a long time ago. It was so funny that you never have seen that pouch. Great video, it brought back so many memories as a child playing in the yard. I bought the house across the street from my parents many, many years ago who still lived in my childhood home, and I'm still in that house.

Good morning to you! Vickie here. Enjoyed the lizards. I like them because they eat bugs but I do not want them running around the house! I agree with the others that Earl was showing off for his lady. My son agreed to babysit his friend's iguana when he was still in school. While was at school, Iggy pushed the cover for the aquarium loose and crawled out. He was over a foot long! I looked around for a while and found him under the bed. I put on gloves and managed to catch him and put him back in. I put something on top to hold the lid in place. I told my son not to volunteer to keep him anymore. Had him for a week while they were on vacation. I looked in his room many times to make sure he was still in his cage! 😢

On holidays in Madeira - the beautifulportugiese island in the Atlantantic Ocean ... with wonderful subtropical weather ... I met a beautiful lizard on my tabe in the sun. I had fresh salad with lettuce, cucumbe, tomatoes, goat cheese, olives, basil. This little dragon was adorable how confident and sassy he came for a snack. I offered him a pieve of all kinf greens. He only took the tomato so I gave him all slices he easily ate. The last half one he took with him. i wqs so proud to support his famly too. ❣

The Anole lizard shows its Dewlap to other males for dominance and territory rights or to attract females, often in combination with head bobs and pushups. They are fun to watch. I bought a pair at the fair, just happened to be a F and M. Had eggs and enjoyed them for 3 years. That was cute to see in your yard.

I love how you are so excited about lizards! When I first moved to Florida & there were lizards in the house, my co-workers said it was normal in FL & they would eat the bugs. My sliding glass doors opened up all the way & in the winter I kept the open. I had a huge patio & a pool enclosure & my cats loved going out there & catching the lizards. But the cats would bring them into the house & play with them. I would find dead lizards in lots of places like my shoes! under the couch cushions, under the refrigerator under the furniture! etc I hope Earl & Earline have a big family & they can eat all your creatures that are attacking your garden!

💚 There was one that lived in the patio area of my townhouse. I named him Emilio. He showed up every summer for the 15 years I lived there. He even showed up at the apartment across town I moved to after Harvey. 😁 They do the bubble chin thing to scare off predators. A cousin of Emilio’s that had spots got in my house once. I went to catch it in a box, but my cat caught it by the tail. He still ran into the box where I let him out in the bushes. I came back in, and the cat still had its tail under her paw where it was still twisting and twirling. To say I was freaked out is an understatement. It was the stuff of nightmares!
