I'm mostly on Seo's side here because I know that situation could feel very disheartening, but I also understand Earl being upset at himself, valuing personal space a lot, and not wanting to hug someone. What I do dislike is him bringing up luck, sneakily suggesting her success against him was a matter of luck with a backhanded compliment like "you're luckier than me" while tearing himself down with "I'm bad luck." Shameful to do that to a young admirer of yours.

Damn, that girl would've cherished a hug from the Pearl until the day she died. She probably grew up watching every Strickland match she could get her hands on over and over. He missed a golden opportunity to show her and the world his human side, which he hides well for some odd reason, but I have no doubt is there. There are many videos and witness accounts that support that. During Efren's farewell tour, he was especially gracious when he said that Efren was the best. Even though he said that, fact is there was very very little daylight between him and Efren. A lot of people believe Earl has an overall winning record over Efren (I've looked for stats but could not find any, I'll bet Earl knows.....)

That's top-level 9-ball for you. Earl just needed to disturb the 7 ball off of the 8 in the third game, but put too much on it and missed the shot. He never got back to the table after that one miss except to break. One mistake decides it -- she never missed afterward.

Just an idea for the ones who will have the chance to watch her live in future. Find a very rare happy face of Earl, in color if possible, and print it as a real size, I mean to fit your face. Glue it on a soft cardboard. Do some holes in the eyes. Put an elastic at the back from ear to ear. So, when you have a chance, put this mask and go friendly to her and maybe you will have a hug!
