Thank you for writing that out cuz now I can see the symbolism and meaning behind it. Snake oil salesman = someone trying to sale a fraud or scam “That’s slick”- referring to snake oil but also the scam “No matter the spin”- the pitch or spin, whatever he gotta do to sell it “Know when I gotta hit… sent over the fence I’m home another run on the road look how i slid”- Lil baseball scheme he did that all correlates back to the salesman pitch he did in the beginning. Man! Earl don’t get enough credit!

@@bruhdespacito8324 This might be a long comment so sorry in advance- So there's a movie called Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, It's sort of like a spoof of movies like Ray & Walk The Line, Very funny and underrated movie with John C Riley. Made by the same people who made Anchorman, Talladega Nights & Step Brothers. In the movie, Dewey accidentally cuts his brother in half with a machete, Where his father disowns him afterwards, His mother, Still supports him and eventually Dewey ends up making it as a musician, Every now and then when he feels depressed or nervous, He coincidentally runs into his band mate doing a different drug, Where he gets told "You don't want no part of this shit" Which is like a running bit in the movie, Anyways at some point his mom hears him on the radio and tells his dad to dance with her, While dancing she gets tangled up in a chord and falls out of a window where their television eventually falls and crushed her. Later in the movie Dewey tries to make amends with his father, Who instead tosses Dewey a machete and challenges him to a machete fight, With the end result being his father gets cut in half, Just like his brother, In the very same shed that it all happened at. So if you take a look at the song from 0:58, Earl begins by mentioning "Son father and death, Big momma with the vision of sorrow now I know why they wet" (Worth pointing out the video shows a shot of sinks, A running joke on the movie where everytime something tragic happens, Dewey rips a sink out of the wall lol) Then it shows a television, Which is what crushed the moms head, Hence "Visions of sorrow" Then he states "I watched it brew into a quarrel i know just where to bet, Now we having it like Dewey Cox out in his shed" Referring to Dewey and his father eventually having the machete fight in the shed. "I had to unify all the plurals in pairs, I promise you truly don't want no part of this shit" I'm willing to bet I'm missing something myself with the first half of that line, But the second part is referring to the bit from the same movie "You don't want no part of this shit" Then finally he states "A couple side splitters got me out of some jams" Side splitters a double entendre in this context, In one hand it's about making jokes, But also is a reference to Dewey's brother and father both being cut in half. So then it ties it together with "I had to style a little so the killers could laugh" Pretty crazy the amount of effort put into all that lol
