A típ I learned from Rc hobby store was to use brake cleaner on the pinion threads and on the grub screw before putting lock tight it cleans away any oils from factory and let’s the lock tight work properly! 😂

That is a awesome looking system. The stock esc looks like a rebranded Hobbywing max6 to me. Hobbywing has come a long way up in the last few years IMO.Could you imagine that in a x- maxx? Fits right in a DBXL-E . It would take a esc plate and a motor mount for a x maxx! You Could put the stock DBXL-E system into something?😗

That og dynamite motor takes a real beating I remember putting it in one of my exmaxes with a max 5 and that thing rippppedddd not the rotor is out of that motor and I still haven’t put the Xmaxx back together it’s been over 2 years now with that one lol

Hey Earl. Was going to comment on the last video about the system. That the v1 is a 50t spur and 13t pinion with the 800kv. The v2 is same with pinion and spur but has the spectrum 780kv. The v2 gas has a 60t spur. I do like the esc holder placed on top "v2" cuz then you can change the battery trays to the v2 in the v1 and run bigger batteries. Can't wait to see you running them head to head. And see the difference between the systems. Have 5 of these cars still trying to find a v1 gas only one I'm missing. LoL

My K&N gas I upgraded to a 32cc motor as I like the style better then the V2 gas 👍

Yes the center drive shaft angle is hugely better on the V2 and the same with the electric V2 👍👍

I've never used the hobby wing stuff but it's well packaged and looks pretty solid. I'm interested to see the side by side runs. I appreciate the index look at how you get your builds together.

Great video sir! Have you considered getting a kraken vekta 5E ultra? It looks awesome and comes as a roller or rtr. With roller you get the 60kg servo. Love to see you work on that beast.

The 800 works better in my opinion runs cooler the 1100 runs hot but can be geared down the max5 is what I run I’ve done several comparisons on the outcast 8s

Hey Earl brotha you might be able to help me, I'm having issues with my losi dbxle and my max5 800kv combo. It's cutting to half power when I full throttle it sometimes. Some things to note... I'm using Zeee premium 9200mah 120c 4s lipos but I'm using ec5 connectors on the lipos and esc. And also the Max5 esc doesn't have cap packs on it. Any idea the problem? It's weird as it wasn't heating up or getting hot at all. Just under full throttle it was going to like half power. Maybe should I gear down? Cap packs? Or maybe try the ec8 connectors? My losi has most of the aluminum upgrades so its pretty damn heavy. Thanks for any advice Earl! 🙏🏻🍻

It’s seeing a voltage drop and reducing power gearing down will help but battery condition may be an issue best to put a cell checker with a low voltage warning ⚠️ sound on the balance lead to see if the cells are holding 👍

@@earlmoorhead5555 Thanks for the tips Earl. The packs probably don't have 5 cycles through them yet and I tested them when I got back and were all perfectly balanced and were at 72-71%....All right around 3.97-3.95v per cell. Very weird. Maybe I'll try lowering punch one and then going down a couple teeth in gearing. Big Gap said he had a similar issue with his kraton 8s was doing something similar and ended up being a bad receiver so maybe I'll try to swap that as well just to eliminate things. Strange a receiver would be a signal loss 🤔I can’t see it cuttingpower 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@earlmoorhead5555 Yeah I hear you on that Earl, I could see if it was just half power all the time but yeah it would be odd to have full power and then half power sometimes and be a receiver. Maybe lvc is set really high for some reason and ill check that too. I'll try charging up lipos full and give it another try. 👍🏻
