Being from a ARK RP Community... I've been quietly laughing to myself at the hype and the fact WildCard is still behind everything. They had sent a message when Atlas was announce, They wanted to be better then they have in the past with PR, that they learned from their mistakes. Yet, they haven't. In fact, this was the most "Hold my Beer" moment for them on who could be the worse developers of the year. Will it be a better game in time? Most likely .... to a point. They will most likely stop updating ARK and move over to Atlas in a year time, why? Because most people own season pass on ark, so you can't milk them for future DLC.

Im sick of the whole “We’ll evolve the game based on your feedback!” horse shit. Devs just use it as license to release half baked, unfulfilling, often barely functional messes. 9 times out of 10 they don’t even really listen either. I also love how that little tagline implies that the player-base is responsible for the creative direction, as if they don’t have a roadmap for the games development.

Try to imagine the mess this was at the date it was supppouse to be released. I don't trust in any animation trailer if there is no gameplay on it. Regardless of the company or the game title.

Literally a reskin of ARK. Really disappointing...

I brought up the issues with it being a reskinned ark before release from seeing the trailers. A lot of the items, structures and creatures in this game are just reskins of stuff from ark and dark and light. When I brought it up after watching the trailer the fanboys mobbed me and told me I was wrong. It took a while but people finally saw the light.

If you bought Ark and then bought this game you kind of deserve to have that money thrown down the drain. Ark was the only red flag I needed to never support Wildcard games ever again.

Question is, did the devs purposely ensure servers were broke at launch so people had to put at least 2 hours in so they could not get a refund? Steam needs a better refund policy. When devs can get away with sh*t like this just because people got baited past the 2 hour mark...

All the People in the Steam reviews that recommend this game and say "people give negative reviews before even playing it, dont listen to them, just wait until people actually played the game and can give reviews" are soooooo dumb. Sorry but thats how it is, the game got delayed 9 Days, they had a very bad communication with the players for example at the 19th when the Countdown was finished and 200k people waited on Twitch and all that... they didnt sayd anything... 30min after the countdown was finished they posted on their Twitter the trailer and say " Pathfinders, ATLAS will be launching on Friday, the 21st of December 2018." no sorry or apologies for another delay or what ever. They Charge money for this excuse of a Game with bad performance, connections problemens, crashes and all the other stuff. They had the same problems in Ark early acces (July 1, 2015) and now its the same and its maybe even worse. Normally they should have learned especially when Atlas is more like a Ark DLC then a standalone game with all the stuff they reused. Its just Ark with Ships instead of Dinos. Luckily i didnt bought the Game and wasnt hyped for it because i excepted it to be a mess. But i feel sorry for all the People that were hyped and waited for the Game and maybe even took vacation for it.

no.. no no no no no.. atlas is awesome. Coming from over 1k hours in ark I am very pleased with my purchase. Have already put almost 30 hours into this game and have had nothing but a few server issues in the first 2 days which... if you have been a gamer in the last 20 years should be expected for a massive online game. People are butt hurt about the issues and saying the game is trash but in reality, THIS is what Sea of Thieves should have been. An awesome pirate game with some actual content in it besides a couple quest options. It is nobodies fault but your own that you bought into early access and are angry. get over yourselves. So sick of the entitled gamer era.. THAT is what needs to end.

The amount of people that don't understand how this works and what early access means boggles me. Don't buy it if you don't want to, no one is forcing you. Check back when the game goes to beta release and see if it's still not for you. Edit: Official servers are garbage now and unofficial servers completely changes your perspective of the game.

I agree that unfinished games should be judged a little differently to finished games, but ONLY if they don't charge anything; we should only be able to buy finished, complete products, which is also why I don't believe anyone should buy access to a game in its beta stage. As soon as a product charges money for anything - initial purchase, microtransactions, DLC, whatever - it should be judged as a finished version and torn apart if it's not up to finished-game standards. If people want to help a game in its unfinished state, then they should be able to volunteer their time, _not_ their money.

Tbh Arks 20 Dollar DLCs were absolutely worth the money and they actually kept releasing new shit nonstop, sticking to it being "early acess", unlike other game companies! And that was with the game being pretty fucking great a month after release when the first performance patch was released.

It should have been a Ark DLC. In actual fact, after searching, it was supposed to be, called Ark Oceans. Or, would not surprise me if this was a small modding community that build this, Ark Developers saw it and got greedy.

If you have a controller and scroll way down in the main menu it opens a menu for Ark and u can select all the story maps from ark including one called ocean..
