Early Access in Spring?... Hopefully not.

I'm excited to dive head first into Pax Dei, but unfortunately it's not ready for Early Access and I don't think it will be in time for their Spring launch date.

I totally agree with the things you highlighted in this video, in fact, it matches my feedback email to the Dev's about 90%.

Does it feel to you like the devs are lining up for pay-to-win? I really don’t know anything about the game.

Nah, no way. If they tried, the majority of the base would leave the game. It’s very similar to Rust in that way. It’s super basic right now and paying for better resources and equipment would be a very big F you to the players.

when did early access come to mean polished or finished, isn't the point of early access to gain access to player testing power and funding to improve on the design? if you dont want to be a part of the process and play a potentially buggy mess then you shouldn't purchase during early access

When did I say polished? There are various stages of readiness for an EA release. It’s planned for about a year in EA, consider the changes in the 6 months between A1 and A2. Then an MMO needs a critical mass of players to remain online. The question becomes will mmo players stick around for an EA that plays like early EA Rust or late EA baldurs gate. My hope is that the EA holds more players than it needs before it’s released.

@@SpaceCoconut not saying that devs us EA properly either, it just a comment that people seem to expect early access to be close to final release these days when it should really be a product thats closer to the other end and then worked on with feedback from the community so you end up with a product that people actually want. Perhaps MMo like games shouldnt really use EA as its reliance on population doesnt fit the model as well

Early access is just going to be a cash grab paid beta test since everything in EA is getting wiped before "release". I think this is a bad idea, they should just wait until the game is ready before charging a box fee. This paying for games still in development is something we never should have started. I blame crowdfunding, and we all know how well crowd funded MMO's have done in recent years. This game will be in EA for years if it ever make it to a release.
