Talents (or traits, whatever you wanna call it) are seeded upon spawning.The game determines what talents your tribesmen has AND will have as they level up. Think of it this way : a tribesmen spawn with a "talent tree" and as they level up they unlock their talent tree, so while the talent tree they spawn with is randomised, the talents they unlock as they level up will always be from that talent tree. Note that it works the same way for negative traits, upon spawning the game already knows what traits it will lose and at what level. What it means is that a tribesmen tamed at lvl 1 then leveled up to 60 and that same exact tribesmen tamed at 60 will have the same exact talents. There is no advantage whatsoever to taming lower level tribesmen aside from being able to distribute their stat points if you don't have access to the Body Remodeling Pill which, as you said, allows you to restat your tribesmen. By far the most efficient way to farm tribesmen is to tame the highest level you can afford to, idealy lvl 50+ but 40 is fine, check if they have your desired talents/proficiency, kick them out if they don't and to keep going. Also, neither Rarity nor Novice/Skilled/Master has any correletion with proficiency levels. Proficiency is entirely random, if you're looking for a 120 + talent crafter, just tame every single crafter you come accross regardless of skill or rarity.

Came to post exactly this. Leveling tribesman aren't randomly gaining/loosing talents. They're just unlocking predetermined talents you can't see yet.

So at the very least, it's a fast method of scratching the lottery ticket to see if you won :D But what you're saying is that it's better to just get them when they're already leveled since that particular minion if caught at 50 or 15 would have the same predetermined perks. That makes sense.

@@SpaceCoconut Yes, that's exactly it. You end up with the same tribesmen but taming at higher level is just much faster and efficient

@@SpaceCoconut To tag onto this, new good traits are gained exactly one per 10 levels, and bad traits *may* be removed one per 5 levels. Another thing they don't make obvious is that higher level tribespeople come with more than one attribute point per level preallocated, vs. the one per level you get for leveling them yourself.

​@@SpaceCoconut Thank you so much! I'm going to watch it asap! I'm currently trying to figure out Tribesmen work schedule. For example I have one tending to 3 crafting tables totaling 15 minutes of scheduled tasks (every half an hour) and under that I have them logging, mining and harvesting at a nearby point. I'm trying to figure out for how long they do each collecting task and if they interrupt their collection task to go do their crafting task when the timer on it is up. And if after that they go back to the collection they were doing before or they just go down on the next task on their list. it sounds complicated cause it kind of is xD ...but I'm good for 3 days now with 14 craftsmen on 3 different bases with only small adjustments,. The most usual problem I have is 1 of them getting stuck (for a long time or permanently) and breaking the chain... then you have problems with stuff overflowing or fertilizer missing or blablabla.. you get it haha

Don't matter how they level, they always have a set thing they gain and lose at certain points no matter what.

If its crafters save yourself the trouble and ignore the perks. Still look for 120 on important ones like weapon, armor, crafting, alchemy and cooking. But dont bother about skill specific traits. I went through 4 120 weaponsmiths and leveled them all to 50 just to find the specific trait. All of them did not get it. It took forever just to find those 4.

for some reason the monkeys hardly put anything in the nest, but if i put a food box near the trunk they put tons in there. also the monkeys need to be near trees i guess, at least my monkeys always wander far af away to where theres more trees for some reason.

I've been told the minion qual/lvl determines if they can reach 120 or not. Not too sure how true that is though

I have low level 120s and I’ve found one with 3 skills at 120 from the early flint barracks. I’ve heard that rank dictates the skill cap range, but I don’t want to record all that data to test it though lol

Don't forget quinoa. The quinoa dishes give a boost to leveling. Also, salt is easy at your level. I'll control a tribesman (usually a crafter that needs weapons leveled) run down to the beach and kill every coconut crab the whole length of the beach. Set yourself up so when you kill everything in the salt pan (5 flint NPCs you can do 1 at a time) you are running North. By the time you get to the North most part of the beach run back to the South most part of the beach and back to the salt pan, the salt has re-spawned. There's also something gratifying hitting the crabs with a hammer. Finally, I would suggest your next video be a constructive criticism of the game. The Devs have been very receptive and made changes based on the community feedback. Now in EA is the time to say, 'hey devs, too grindy!'

That's not a unusual, it's par for the course. In some cases lower tiers have even better caps.

You don't need an armorsmith 120, Im starting cold steel age and my armorsmith is barely 105 despite the fact that im crafting iron armor for all my tribe (30). AS 120 is for very endgame and by the time you will be able to tame lvl 45/50 tribemen. WIch will save you the long and painfull xp grind hoping for the right perk. I did the same, stayed in rainforest during 100 hours farming for centuries for tribesmen. Try to get the claw weaponsmith with the quality perk and above 90, same with the flint for armorsmith quality. That will be plenty enough to begin with. And don't worry about levelling proficiency again, in steel age getting to 90 is craftin 200 iron arrows or 100 plates for armorsmith.

Monkeys don't gather anything, a certain amount of bananas pineapple, nuts and fruits spawn in their inventory. The auto pick up I think is for when you put them into you shoulder and then you go like in barracks put them down. Have to test that I'll give you more infos. Put my monkey in the swamps hoping they will have some new stuff but no.

I just moved one to the Wetlands to test it. Not good. After an hour or so, not a single thing in the collection box, though he does have a tiny number of each of the different fruits in his inventory. So, he's "finding" stuff even in that environment but at really reduced rates.

@@stuff5392 Yeah I think they must to be in their environement wich is jungle, then quality and level matters. Like a mythical lvl 20 monkey will have better rates for sure.

The flint armor-smith exclusive talent of 10% +quality, is a must have for steel armor set. From my experience, red quality is 2%, gold quality is 38%, purple is 60%. The bottleneck for steel armor crafting is killing elite creatures for parts. Solo player can roll around 20 pulls per hour. It’s so annoying (time consuming) that I turn off gear durability decay.

Your main dude stops leveling. After that you need to control tribesmen to do harder content.

Talents are not random they are set. Want to level them up fast? Tame lvl 50 tribe people.

For crafter npcs you're partially right, but never level up fighters - just tame lvl 45-50. When you all will leave tutorial area and reach state of the game where you need a really good npc u will understant that geting npc with perk like trick force (-30% stamina cost) is already better than 99% of npc u will ever tame with your 10 fancy perks that change nothing. Remember fact that npcs from different biomes got other perks and not every faction and REGION can have same perks. Snow people can have up to 15 chill resist, u need all cold resist u can get for endgame as there is below -50°C. People are leveling trash npcs and then they cry that elephant boss is unbeatable even if they were leveling 50 npcs last 2 weeks. You will sacrifice much more time to find godlike npcs anyway and life is too short to lvl up by hand every garbage u get only, because "there is a small chance that he will get perk that will give him 1% more dmg when he will do poop" :D Just mass recruit red fighters and dissmiss insta if there is no good perks. IF you wanna run with npc to help you fight you need perk -50/-60% dmg taken when following you, but this perk will be insta after taming or never at all as it is gold perk.

Also fighter can die, u revive him at base lvl so enjoy leveling from 10-15 to 60 every time u fail something
