Your videos are like a balm for those of us who can't visit the Northwoods. I like the moon hanging in the sky from about 0:48 onward. I'm looking forward to the day I make my first trip to Sax Zim.

Hi David, I am using a Benro travel tripod with a video head… And the microphone is a Rode short shotgun mic with windscreen/dead cat.

My wife and I are heading to Hawk Ridge the first full week of October and likely will swing up to the bog sometime that week. Any recommendations on hot spots to bird around the bog then?

Hi! If you have westerly or northwest winds, I would spend all my time at Hawk Ridge :-) But if you have bad winds you could go up to Sax-Zim and walk the boardwalk. There are three boardwalk/bog walks that are on our map on our saxzim.org website. As you probably know that is a pretty slow time for birding in the Northwoods but there are permanent residence around and the birding would be best at sunrise. PS the map has Roads coded by seasons. Have a great trip!
