Spain's southern neighbor, Morocco, went through a tumultuous history of European colonization in the 19th and 20th century, despite being one of the world's oldest independent states. Morocco was in a position, both geographically and politically, that made it unique in the history of the "Scramble for Africa"

Just a little detail, before the Berbers attacked the Visigoths, Ceuta was already a Visigothic city.

Fun fact, the English and American generals that planned the landing in Normandy, based their plans in the landing during the RIF war.
