They sway in the breeze like small bells. 3:24 Heather honey is quite fascinating, so far as I know it comes only from the British Isles, it is so thick that it must be vibrated out of the comb (thixotropic), it has a wonderful floral flavor and it is very precious being produced in small amounts in a tiny part of the world. I still have a small jar of heather honey that a friend gave me many years ago, so precious it is. Honey will never spoil if moisture is kept away from it, it is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture out of the air, so if kept tightly sealed, it will last many lifetimes, seriously. I have kept honeybees for 40+ years and I have an inquiring mind, so, among other things, I learned about this wonderful, precious product of Britain. Most of us will not slather it thickly on bisquits, scones or crumpets , perhaps the British beekeeper will but very few of us will it is so precious. 4:09 An idyllic little pond, you have frogs?? Out in farmland where I live the large pond that we made 45 years ago is full of happy, singing frogs springtime, at night, bedtime, their sounds, hundreds of them are quite soothing to the busy mind and bring sleep on more quickly. Singing frogs plus rainfall on the metal roof at night is double bliss. 6:35 Yes, best to wear worn out clothes when gardening because the kneeling to remove weeds , and theconstant up an down quickly wears knees on trousers through and craks shoes across the top, so, best to wear old, worn out clothing. I never wear shorts or anything that will give blood sucking insects access. You Camellias are VERY nice. 9:31 Yes, for years I have wanted to have a few holly shrubs, one of the few uplifting sights in wintertime is a holly loaded with red berries, dusted with snow and a cardinal bird or two perched on them. One reason that I have not doen it is because our Amish neighbor has a long row of them intended for sale that he planted many years ago, but they never get berries. As you know, you must have a male and a female holly or you shall get no berries. Both genders look identical, so I hope to see berries on these hollies before I buy in order to be sure to get berries. They are rather heavily shaded so perhaps that is why there are no berries. Some hollies, perhaps all of them slowly grow into small trees, so if space is lacking, that may not be good. 12:28 Paeonies are what gardeners here in the states call "estate plants" because they require quite a lot of years to establish, onece established they never disappear, unless suffocated by weeds of course, but we moved to here in Ohio 55 years ago, there was a group of pink and a group of white paeonies, they are still here, they still bloom with heavy damask rose like fragrance. Modern paonies cannot be trusted for fragrance, many modern types have no fragrance. O.K. Thank you for the show and tell, now go have yourself some tea, I am drinking mine now with an apple tart that I made from our front yard apple trees, I canned 70 quarts of apples from them the year before last, still using from those, last autumn we took them all to the cider press and they made 18 gallons of cider.

I did plant some buxus as a hedge, but I went with Korean boxwood Franklin’s Gem, which is supposed to be much more resistant to disease, and I plan on only pruning it to shape once a year. Its leaves take on a bronze hue in winter, too, which I find really pretty
