0:58 Hello Ava sweetie! Nice that you showed us your darling little face this time! 💜💜 2:22 My tree planting endeavor this springtime/late winter was planting Ice Peach seeds and Peche de vigne peach seeds sent to me from Romania to here in Ohio. I, with extreme care and deliberation filed around the perimeter of the seeds until they opened up, then planted them into potting mix, into the refrigerator for 3+ weeks, 4 months ago, they were becoming pot bound, so i just plunked them into my vegetable garden , which has cow manure and lime/ calcium carbonate plowed under for the past 3+ years. They are now shoulder high, 5 feet tall. 2:37 It looks like what slugs do here in Ohio. When slugs are active, I go through all of my plants with my 1950s garden snips and snip the slugs in two just before sundown. Failure to do so results in stripped leaves and plant death. 4:29 Very likely some subterrainian insects eating of the smallest roots, scattering tobacco dust liberally does wonders for eliminating subterranian creepy crawlys, I have seen tobacco powder almost miraculously bring back trees and shrubs from the brink of death. 5:26 It looks like the ground elder is a bad neighbor going beyond it's bounds. The same with my morning glory vines, convolvulus, they nearly killed of my Albertine rose and Seven Sisters rose and Earth Angel rose plants. FINALLY, this summer, I hacked them down mercilessly. 9:50 Yes, especially when loaded up with snow and ive they are beautiful, 2:11 Here in Ohio decades ago I planted spire form chaemacyparissus etc. heavy snow caused them to bow to the ground. 28:26 I am of one accord with you regarding Russia, the Russians born and raised in the Dombass, were being harrassed by Ukrainians ever since our vile president Obama with the CIA overthrew the Ukrainian election and installed that thing as president or premier or whatever he calls himself. The USA has no legitimate business over there. I do not like to see good people suffer, but, enough of hat, back to the roses, we are blessed that we do not have bombs raining down in our gardens. Let us appreciate that. Yes, tea, camellia sinensis, such a bland, flavorless shrub creating a quite refreshing flavor when fermented well. For the English, tea time is afternoon, for myself, tea time is 10 oclock at night when I have done as much work as I can doo and sit down with the PC for an hour or so. My tea is Ceylon done the English way with a spot of milk. Far better to drink tea than to drink soda pop/carbonated ....... Good night and Godspeed to you Ralph in Ohio.

Backache is the curse of gardeners. Hope you feel better soon. My Wollerton Old Hall blooms prolifically. A puzzlement.

My Wollerton is also blooming amazingly well. It likes my hot dry climate. I ordered a Rose Florintina for next year. I am also branching out from David Austins. Some are so lovely and do so well, but others just annoy me. The Generous Gardener is always shown pink, but mine is white and washed out and gets lots of bugs. Benjamin Britten is super healthy but has like three small flowers a year. I am not digging up the Benjamin, though, I am going to plant a Rose Uerterson next to it, and hopefully it will make the area seem more cheery. JayJay has one, and its amazing looking. Also, he has a Pompenella rose that is so pretty. Maybe put your Wollerton in a sunny spot by itself if you have room. Your garden is beautiful as always. Have a lovely day.

Ive had an awful year with my David Austins, silas marner is almost dead! Gabriel Oak is full of black spot and the otheres have been absolutely ravaged by sawfly! I've never seen so many. I hope its because of the unusual wet summer we've had. Your garden tips are great Darren, im going to invest in some more evergreens! 😊

Ema Hamilton maybe does not prosper so good due tu herb artemisia in close neigbourhood, liquidambar groes pretty slow (and life long can be more than 100 years) but finaly it gets 30m high, the tree crown is like 10 m wide - i mean the basic one variety, for smaler gardens is then better some variety that is smaller final size

..... "Oh wind, if winter comes, can spring be far behind?" Sylvia Plath Alas, her contemplations failed to bring cheer to her as our Literature teacher informed us, poor Sylvia somehow managed to shorten her life by popping her head into a natural gas oven inhaling deeply!😳😳
