Great job! Thanks so much! This addresses the question of can this do the half step down thing to help a vocalist or for the guitarist for practice or performance purposes to reduce the number of guitars needed. I agree with your final analysis. I have both pedals. On reviewing them side by side like you did I came to your same conclusion. The EHX does more but slightly worse performance with tracking and latency. If only the digitech ricochet did the half step drop. I probably would have chosen it instead of these

Excellent video Sir! Very helpful in guiding my decision, which I'm very grateful for. In this video as in others I've seen the Digitech Drop sounds better with less artifacts. The Pitchfork has more options tho... But I chose the Drop.

I like em both but for two separate reasons. The Pitchfork can go up or down in pitch. The Drop tracks the tone better. It still keeps the tight. Theres going to be pros and cons either way but it's about being fun and creative. Boost, e.qs and overdrive wouldn't if there's tone issues

How is it 4 semitones down? My range is from standard to drop b. Is there any noticable, off putting or increased if any latency?

Well, it sounds good if you on one or two strings at the same time. But if you're playing a chord, there's a little something disturbing about how distinctive that chords sounds. It gives as result some messy sound (not out of tune, just not clearly understandable.

Very informative. I have one question though. I'm thinking of getting the digitech pedal but I place bass. Have you or a member of your shop or band true using it on a bass? If so, how did it turn out?

you should do a comparison with another guitar tunned a half, then one, then two steps down. I know its sounds like hell, but it´s worth trying!

Excellent review. I really digged the Pitch Fork, but the tracking on the Drop is far more superior, noticeable at the comparison at 4:30. I still haven’t bought none, because some players complain that there’s a noticeable volume loss on the Drop. Is that correct? Thank you.

It should work as well. We didn't get the chance to properly test it with a bass guitar to see if it can register the lower notes. We completely ran out of stock. Rest assured we'll test it out in the future.

great playing and nice sounding guitar. pretty close match-up, but Drop my preference to my ears. Question: what pedal does the opposite of these, goes UP, like a Capo.

johnnymegabyte The Pitch Fork goes up. That's the thing. The Digitech can handle downtuning better, but the Pitchfork can do both

Get them both, downtune the drop then tune the Pitch Fork up to match the drop. See you get your normal guitar tone.

Am I the only one who like the Electro-harmonic better? The Drop did indeed get darker sounding, but isn’t that what the Djent crowd try to counter act by thinning out an overdrive boost in front of a distorted amp. The drop also seemed to diminish the overall gain. Where as the pitchfork, retained definition and maintained gain (or distortion) level.

No it takes your guitars direct signal and that's the starting point so it would be dropping it down from c

I hear a huge difference in sustain tbh, I will go with electro hmx - also watched your demo between the ts808 vs od808 a few months back and it made me go with the OD808 over the TS808.....and man it has yet to leave my pedal board!! Salute to you from New Orleans brother!!!⚜️

We'll have to say for the sole purpose of down tuning, the Digitech has almost none! It tracks so fast it's insane.

Okay so UPDATE: After 6 months (or so) of having the EHX Pitchfork I’ve decided I need the Digitech Drop. So ordered one today. Reason why, is that the pitchfork in person, has a definitive “synthy” sound to my ears, as much as I think Ehx is a better brand in general than Digitech, I just cannot get my ears passed the synth sound at lower tunings. The Pitchfork has wayyyy more sustain then the Digitech, yet the Drop sounds far more Dynamic all around the board. I still plan on keeping the Pitchfork handy, because it does sound best on one of my guitars, but man I just think the Digitech is far more natural sounding which is great, when u have a large signal chain already.

Okay, the Digitech Drop was delivered yesterday, and I am blown the fuck away, it is everything I needed and was hoping it to be, having gone passed C Standard, but wow... It is so much more transparent than the pitchfork, the first 3-4 semitones, sound so natural, thank you @Music Bliss Malaysia
