Phillip Bailey and Maurice White were an amazing team. When you listen to this song with headphones you can hear all the intricacies of all the instruments involved in this masterpiece. I was sad to hear when Maurice passed and Parkinson’s is a cruel disease 😢

Philip Bailey is the amazing falsetto you're hearing from EWF. Came out when I was like 10 years old I think back in 1976.

Phillip and EWF delivered this song so beautifully. The credit should also be extended to Mr. Charles Stepney, who wrote, arranged, and produced this tune as well. Genius work by everyone involved.

Right on young sista. You’re grooving off the Mighty Elements (of the universe) Earth Wind & Fire, the greatest band known to mankind. They were next level. Their albums were like music lessons; the harmony, the horns, the strings, the bass lines and 2 fantastic lead singers. And this is not to mention their concerts. Audience were left spellbound. It was a life changing experience. And guess what ? They never used the N-Word or disparaged women in their songs.

I'm an old-timer, and have listened to song a 1000 times, over the years, and I STILL get chills listening to it.

Earth, Wind, and Fire have too many good songs for me to have one favorite. I love Devotion, Keep your Head to the Sky, On Your Face, and That's the Way of the World. There are also other classic songs like Reasons, All about Love, and Let's Groove Tonight.

No only is Philip Bailey singing almost an operatic falsetto but the harmonies are heavenly and Verdine white's bass line is 🔥🔥. If you want bangers from them i suggest Getaway from this same Spirit album or In The Stone or Can't Let Go. They're my fav group so i know my EWF.
