I've been using these subwoofers for over 20 years. I have three in my man cave setup. 2-12s and the 15 big boy. Nothing will compare to these. SVS good luck. All the others good luck. These boys are run at 2ohms. The amplifiers are amazing. I don't even run them on 4 out of a scale of 10. They will literally crack glass. Ask my wife. I had to make separate platforms and then put spikes on the bottom of the cabinets and then Spike them to the platform so they wouldn't move across my living room. You do get what you pay for with this company!!! #BIGBOOM!!

I agree. I’m not a fan of svs at all so I don’t really get the hype but to each they’re own I guess. I have four of the mini me dsp 10s in my theater room and all the walls shake with just a little bit of volume. People say the product is overpriced but tbh you just have to look for deals and even earthquake offers open box deals which saves you some money and the products are tested and basically in new condition. What earthquake should really do is advertise themselves a lot more. I’d they did, I really feel like more people would go with their products. For me they’re the best subwoofers I’ve owned.

Thanks Chris, I enjoyed the video. That "slope" motion comment made my day. Missed it the first time. My favorites on this sub. SPL, CRAZY sound pressure changes vs subs that are larger. It fills that space. Put some hurt into your room with this thing. I thought the clipping light was a huge factor in setting up the sub. Very intelligent. The ability to turn off sub-sonic is huge. Its the wife acceptance factor for sure. These guys did a bang up job on this!

Yeah, i was just on the phone with the earthquake guys, I was telling them how impressed i was. Apparently the Slaps SUB was a new prototype that that didnt tell me about. It was cool to test it for them :)

Earthquake make some really good subs :) and this beast is awesome. I remember having 2 Earthquake subs in my old car like 3-4 years ago and they were amazing.

You can turn off the subsonic with a switch, so it makes it more home friendly. However the option is yours.

tkcdac A subsonic filter is made to protect and keep you driver from launching at frequencies below box tuning.

@@sonicchill1 Most subsonic filters bypass 45Hz or lower. Of course there are different types of filters and in this case " IQ-600 also provides a subsonic filter that is switchable with a high pass at 20Hz. The user can boost 30Hz and 20Hz to move the subsonic center frequency to a lower or even higher value." If its to protect the box, or your walls, your call as to the reasoning. edit: This sub does go below 25Hz naturally, its response is listed at 14Hz - 120Hz, so not protecting the tuning to my understanding.

If he does that, Earthquake will haunt him... I own both the PC-4000 and Earthquake MKVI 15.... In short... Earthquake has what sounds to me like too much uncontrollable bass... almost no low end compared to pc-4000. (And it almost sounds like it's chuffing, even though it's a sealed subwoofer) when pushed in the low end aswell.

WHen you are setting your sub gain, seems i dont have any light on my sub. SO can you replhrase stting gain for those without a light? I think you said have stereo at odb reference/stereo/50 hz tone generation, then the rest had me lost. Typically i would measure 2 subs to front channel db level, then recalibrate subs after both turned on? Seems you had a different procedure....

It basically replicates what some more of the pricey digital DACs do, but is very much more than knobs, it is intelligent. Very cool indeed.

Hi Chris, I've never seen a sub setup this way. Is this unique to the Earthquake? I set the noise level meter to 75db and from the listener position set all speakers/subs to the same level. That's the way I've always done it since I got into HT.

It converts directly to SPL man.. if you want to feel it, this is the ticket.

BladeRnR10 Not the driver, the enclosure. You can see the box itself rocking back and forth....a lot. That’s a nightmare for hardwood floors. I don’t know if the box needs to be heavier or what, but it moves way too much for me personally.

@@dwalker112 AHH my bad. Thought you were just giving a generic about the movement. Stay away from this is you can't handle the movement! I have paint chips off the nails in my sheet rock. The cracks are real. This thing generates so much more pressure than the PB-16 toe to toe. Feel it man.. crazy. I have had to do some strange things in the past with my subs. Heavy mats, Soundpath feet from SVS, and on my carpet in the front of my room, I used the soundpaths AND those moving men carpet sliders underneath. The extra isolation really helps.

nope, i edit their videos and run their channels. Zak is Zak, Like him or not, he will continue to be himself. Other than the day to day with those fellas, i still run my own channel too :)
