Thank you. It's encouraging seeing someone doing seeding by hand. Basics. I'm not a farmer yet and don't have property yet. I bought a 2ndhand Cyclone hand seeder yesterday. Good review guys. One thing I will add is that the gear box is not sealed. If you use it to spread fertilizer make sure you remove all excess fertilizer from the bag before you set it aside for storage. If not the collection of dew inside the bag can cause the fertilizer to run down into the gear box and gum it all up rendering it nonfunctional. Other than that it spreads seeds very nicely.

I ordered this same spreader. Inside the box was two white pieces of plastic about 2 inches wide by about a foot long. Anyone know what these are for? No where on the box does it mention them or in this video or any other instructions I have found.

These sound like your vertical supports which help the bag hold its shape. They should be bent slightly to conform to the base of the unit and are then secured with a 3/8" screw. www.earthway.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/2750-Manual-2017-52198.pdf

Where do you set the settings at middle of screw or edge of stopper

You can, just ensure you clean it out good afterwards! Also be mindful of how much weight you're carrying around in the bag... especially when hoisting it up over your shoulders.

Don’t put fertilizer in one , it will strip the gears out

So long as people clean them out thoroughly with water and dry, you should be good. We've had ours for several years now... seed, fertilizer... no issues thus far.

"Built well?" No. Both of the ones I purchased stripped the gears the first time I used them. Absolute junk. I just purchased the Solo brand spreader and there is no comparison.

Sorry to hear you had bad experiences with both of yours. Were they recently purchased? Not sure if the quality went downhill or not but we've been using both of ours for 8 years now and have been very pleased with them. No gear issues here, knock on wood!
